Hi, y'all!

My wife and I just got back from getting our second Covid shot. Now we need to wait a week or so, and we should be reasonably safe from the 2019 plague. I have worried so much for Liz since she has diabetes and is a cancer survivor, and now I am starting to feel so much better. *he quickly knocks on his wooden desk*

I hope all of my friends here on SS stay safe and healthy as well. You are all in my prayers.

A new member, Alex, joined today. I read his submitted story. His story was not written poorly, but I could not score/rate it fairly due to my feelings about the subject matter. I hope a few members could read his story 'Don't Ask' and give him some feedback. We are a small site, and I like to let new writers know they are being read.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

I've been rewatching some classic horror films I love. I've seen them all at least five times.

The Birds
The Thing (1982)
The Omen (1976)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
Rosemary" Baby
The Changeling

Great classic movies for sure. 'The Thing' is excellent, but I prefer the 1951 version. (probably because I saw it so many times as a kid)
Hi everyone. Gotta have a donut today.

Cubs are 6-2 after today's walk-off grand slam and lead the Catus League, but I know how useless spring training records are, especially this year. This year, special rules allow the fielding team to end the ending early regardless of the outs or runners under certain circumstances. I do not know about this rule. If someone can explain it to me, I would love to know.

I heard a funny joke yesterday. (Sorry, it is a little dirty) What do you call that useless piece of flesh attached to the penis? A man!
Perfect for Woman Appreciation Day!
Good afternoon everyone.

I slept in with Liz today. We didn't get out of bed till after 1 pm. It is nice to hug and cuddle as you doze in and out of slumber together with your love.

I will try a cuppa Coronation Street black tea, and thanks for the donut, Sara. I do like fruity drinks.

I have never been a coffee drinker and have realized I do not know what an expresso machine looks like. How peculiar is that?
Good day everyone,

I live in a multi-generational home with my wife (Liz), my youngest son and wife (Ray & Melissa), and 3 of my grandkids. (Joel, Janette, and Gabriel) Today is extraordinary because my oldest son (Chris), his wife (Alissa), and my other granddaughter Elizabeth) are visiting. This is just great!

I had an interesting thought today that has changed my entire perspective on history. The USA will be 245 years old in July, and in August, I will be 63. That means I will have been alive for more than 25% of the history of the USA. If you are 45 years old this year, then in 5 years, the 250th birthday of the USA, you will have lived for 20% in that history. These revelations made me think and ponder on my understanding of the perspective of the passage of time. I wanted to pass that thought on to my friends.

I wish we had some donuts, but some super-sweet cookies will hit the spot, and some of Scott's Scottish tea sounds interesting.

BTW, I just read a story from a new member, Peter_Pan, who joined today. I thought it was excellent. You might want to check it out and welcome a new member to our family.

Hello, my friends,

I had a bad night last night but am feeling much better today. My brain-fog is particularly thin today, which is always fantastic. I even started writing a muse for the site, which I hope will be better than mediocre.

I hope everyone is doing as well as possible today. I'll have some herbal tea, and I brought my last two boxes of Samoas that I got from the girl scouts.

I hope no one minds if I take a seat and enjoy the wonders of today.

Peter, Paul, and Mary or The Beach Boys?
I am at a loss why so much attention is given to Disney's new disclaimers on some of their 'Muppet Show' episodes. It was a much bigger story when the early 'Muppet Show' episodes were given a PG rating because they contained ideas or examples that were later considered dangerous decades later, such as talking to strangers and accepting things from strangers. That occurrence received almost no news coverage in the media but was potentially much more important in content. Is this disparity based more on today's culture wars?

V: It means that I, like God, do not play with dice and do not believe in coincidence. Are you hurt?
Good day to all.

Today is the first day of spring training games. The Cub's first game is tomorrow. (The pitcher?)

In honor of this day, I found an old tape on YouTube that most of you have seen, but you will love this if not. This brings back so many memories.

Tough choice, but Julie Newmar.

I had a teenage crush on Eartha Kitt. I wish she had been one of the choices.

One of my favorite epistolary stories is Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. The movie made from it is silly but the short story won a Hugo Award.

Salutations, everyone.

I thought the movie was not too bad, but it failed mightily as an interpretation of the book.

The book was fabulous!

I brought two boxes of cookies I received from the Girl Scouts last night (Samoas, of course) and some grapefruit juice (fresh squeezed). I am not allowed grapefruit in the real world, and I enjoy it so much.
I am a big fan of graphic novels. Titles such as 'Maus,' 'Deadpool: Bad Blood,' 'The Watchmen,' 'V: for Vendita,' and 'Batman: The Dark Knight Returns' are just the tip of some of the best. I once collected comic books and graphic novels from the late 1970s till the mid 1990s and still have most of them. A magazine I read, 'Heavy Metal,' is very similar to the graphic novel format.
