My dear lady's birthday today. She is--ageless! She is , as ever, cautious of my general well-being, but I have her permission to partake of a couple of Sara's delicious cookies-- strawberry and banana shortbreads. Washed down with a hot latte. Tonight it will be a meal out and for her, although her drinking is limited, an Aporol spritzer will go down well. but slowly.

The old year is dying in a dull way, but at least it's dry--hope that terrible load you have out west doesn't come our way. Genuinely sorry for all those family plans that must have been shattered by that weather. Now, I have 14 more hours to see last year's NY resolution complete. So I'm keeping the same one for 2023--Staying Alive.

I'll help myself to a hot chocolate and several of Sara's delicious cookies, and I'll toast you all with all my best wishes for the coming year Cheers!

Thank you, Scott. I was astounded at how easily that worked out after my hopeless attempts yesterday. I believe it is now being verified 9or not) Anyway, I am in your debt forever. Thanks too to Molly for your kind offer. Of courzse, I am blaming the laptop for these recent failings--it couldn't be me, could it? Could it?

I think I have tried every conceivable Copying, Uploading , gliding and I still cannot make a connection. I had no bother initially in just plain copying to Word page before I started writing. But that simple technique didn't work and neither has anything else.

The answer to my plaintive request 6 hours ago was --NO MERCY!
