CONSPIRACY????

Why does New Zealand butter cost less in Paris than it does in Auckland?

Why does French butter cost less in Auckland than it does in Paris?

Sun's up ... 6am walk along the beach.. stong offshore breeze tugging at my 'should be sailing' heartstrings... looks awesome out there... feasted on a mug of fresh ground steaming coffee and spicy fruit muffins, toasted of course... worked late last night.. again!!!! .. the holiday season must be on as I woke to a mere 84 emails!

Time now for second mug of caffeine nutrient as I set about these emails... off to The Nutcracker today.

Morning and a good day (pronounced g'day .. one and a half syllables ) to everyone. Have a great Sunday!

Good morning. Having my second cuppa java. It's a bright, shiny day. But too cold and I need to do some grocery shopping.

Oh, for the first time since we started perfoming the Nutcracker here at our arts center we were completely sold out for all performances before opening night. That was last night.

Cheers, all.

Wow! Sell out is awesome. Congrats. Bet it gives everyone an enormous lift. Love the Nutcracker and it just so happens that I am going today! .. but, sadly, not to your performance. Tchaikovsky's fairy tale music is mind blowing isn't it? It's my fav ballet after Coppelia.

Another Thai fan, eh. I'm fond of their noodles and green curries myself. And there's a dish that restaurants here call basil shrimp that I've become addicted to. The duck sounds delicious. Must see if any Thai places around here have it. When I have duck, it's usually Chinese, either roast duck or Peking duck.

Absoloooodlely a Thai fan. Have been there on assignment too and had a train adventure which was an awesome experience. Every stop peeps get on the train with food and hot coffee. They are the politest people ever and their food can be just as good outside the country as in it. I had to change trains and did so at a really fun place that reminded me of real America, a small community that had grown up around a junction, a crossing of rail tracks. Way off the tourist trail, nobody spoke English, which was fun, but obviously backpackers come through as the menu at the place at which we ate had a few typed sheets of blue paper at the back. No mention of Thai food just standard English fare. I can still remember how it started..

1 1 Toast

2 1 Toast Butter

3 1 Toast Butter Jam

4 2 Toast

5 2 Toast Butter

6 2 Toast Butter Jam

7 1 Egg

8 1 Egg 1 Toast

9 1 Egg 1 Toast Butter

10 2 Egg

Bet you can guess 11, 12, 13 ... it's not as easy as it looks .. 11 is 2 Egg 1 Toast

Had the BEST food ever, all ordered by pointing at the dishes the locals were eating. Sorry for rabbitting on but you jogged a wonderful memory and I believe you would have loved being there.

Last night in Auckland the others ate curry, Thai Green an Massaman Beef. I am no curry fan so never go there.
Early riser me, never easy after a wonderful dinner the night before. Thai... started with prawn spring rolls which were all prawn in a wonderfully crisp pastry, served with a sweet chilli dipping sauce... followed by my fav, roast duck .. served in a Thai peanut and sweet chilli sauce on a bed of buc choy... all washed down with an ice cold Thai lager beer, Singha. For dessert I had another serving of the prawn spring rolls and a second Singha!
Like my prawns

Sooo .. four and a half hours to catch up on mail.. say hi here and elsewhere.. it's a quarter to ten and I'm off to an area they call Britomart for my first meet of the day.. over coffee of course...

Everyone have a great day.. hope the rain stays away.
