About
Hello all,
I don't have a large amount of time for reading, but I much enjoy well-written short stories. I always hope that the writing has plenty of subtlety and wit.
I wish I could see myself having the creative imagination to write a satisfactory story. However, I'm working on it
Interests
Science - particularly medical science, since I worked in that area before retirement.
Music - but I mean the sort that will still be great in hundreds of years, plus cool and clever jazz -the sort that's best done in a trio. Yes, I know I'm a dinosaur, since I see most pop music as suitable only for children.
Favorite Books
I don't have time to read regularly, so long books are out. I find the UK library system is still good -and most valuable - though it's deteriorating with all the cuts.
Favorite Authors
Writers like Edward Marston , Robert Harris and Ben McIntyre are impressive in their attention to detail.
Science authors such as Simon Singh, Ben Goldacre, David Salsburg and David Spiegelhalter should be heard about much more often.
Favorite Music
Anything by the sublime Johann Sebastian B. Sergei Rachmaninoff, when I'm in a smoochy mood. Gustav Mahler, when I'm not. Walton's "Touch her sweet lips...." ought to be compulsory listening for lovers.
