Dear Verbal, I’m with Ping on this one. Forget what the book club says about your writing. It’s your writing, your baby. Keep it as you want it. As soon as you start writing to please other people you lose your creative ideas. I think it’s better to just get them out there. Look at me, I’ve never written before, but since January I’ve managed to publish over 80 stories. I know that my dyslexia and lack of a formal education shows in my writing, but I don’t care. There is nothing I can do about that. I just do the best I can. It may not be good enough to win any prizes but some people like them, especially in the other place. Its the ideas that count, and you have plenty. Did you know, the biggest cost in furniture manufacture is the labour and transportation. Big cupboards need big boxes and big lorries to move them around. Can you imaging the boardroom reaction when someone said, “I have an idea, how about we just send the customer the bits, and they assemble it themselves.” I bet that got a few laughs. Now look at IKEA. Keep going verbal. Regards, Verity.
