At least you have good taste in rock stars. 😋

Well, there is that. I can thank Drew for that cause him is teaching me well. Today, I'm being Petty though.

Oh boy, watch out rock stars. 😉

Yeah...I think I fell for David Bowie without really realizing it. Like, I keep liking/following every page I can find and...yeah.

...well, I'm officially in classic rockstar loving hell - and I love it. Why is it always the dimples?

(And no, this isn't about Tommy, or at least not just about him.)

Yesterday I was having a rough day but as soon as I put on Tommy, I felt a lot better. Something about him's music soothes me in ways I can't explain - but I have to be careful, too, cause Pettyparalysis is a very real thing.

Describes Mr. Petty perfectly.

I would hope so cause I'd feel bad if I insulted him in some way.

Also maybe this is weird but I don't like to listen to him if him's doing a duet with someone cause when I say I want to listen to Tommy, I really, really mean it.

Backups are okay though - as long as they're not too involved.

Ha! Okie music made me laugh (both my parents are native Okies).

...well, she understood after I said it was basically working man's rock. I think she must've confused it with, like, rockabilly or something.

And then she said Bob Dylan's voice sounds like Burgess Meredith as the Penguin in Batman (cause I was telling her about The Traveling Wilburys).

Quote by Mendalla

He wanted company on the tour bus? 😊

Well yeah...I guess that's true.

Oh god. My mom basically described him as 'okie music' today after I tried to explain heartland rock to her.

Good day! Hi, Elyse. The world needs more Petty, even if he was a ... bad dum ... Heartbreaker.

Him's the only true heartbreaker, so why was it Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers?

Also Drew and Tommy were both in my dreams last night, kinda just watching over me like, 'That's our baby and we love xem.'

I've woken up with Tommy's songs stuck in my head for the past few days. Today it's 'The Waiting.'

Also my PT says him has a whiskey sounding voice but I'm not sure what that means.

Glad Gill and I can help. He really was a special talent. I remember buying Damn the Torpedoes (his first big album) and putting it on the turntable and being utterly blown away. The concert to see would have been when he was touring with Bob Dylan, and they were Dylan's BACK-UP BAND!

Oh, I believe you. Today I'm listening live (aka without earbuds) cause I apparently killed them listening to him yesterday.

...and yall have no idea how close I am to ditching 'Tom' and calling him Tommy like I already do in my head.

I saw him in concert, back in the day. Lenny Kravitz opened. GOOD concert.

My daughters turn the radio up to 11 and sing along top volume whenever American Girl comes on the radio.

You're the second person to tell me they've been lucky enough to see him in concert (the first being my PT) within the last week or so and I envy both of you so bad it's kinda ridiculous.

...also your daughters have great taste. My personal favorites are Hometown Blues and Strangered in the Night, although you really can't go wrong with him's music.

Honestly, I like listening to him more than I like most of the people I know irl.

It's dumb but Tom Pretty has become my comfort artist even more over the last week or so.

I was having a bad night last Thursday and, as soon as I'd shoved in my earbuds and started listening to him, my mood was lifted.

I - I don't know what I'd do without him's music.

Quote by Mendalla

(and for JustAnotherSapphic, more Petty, this time with a few of his musical friends)

Sad that of this great supergroup, only Dylan and Lynne remain.

Petty? More like Pretty.

...and I'm listening to him's solo stuff today. Getting emotional over one of him's songs wasn't something I thought I'd be doing, either, but there we are.

With Tom Petty being a hot topic around here, how's about some classic Petty to entertain us this evening.

Hot topic is right, although I definitely don't mean it in the same way as you do.

You kids today and your crazy rock music. (Kidding, I love TP.)

Very funny. My first thought was Toilet Paper even though I know you meant Tom Petty (or Tom Pretty as I like to call him sometimes).

The way I went from not knowing a single Tom Petty song to recognizing Breakdown from the first few notes so fast it's ridiculous.

That's it; that's the post.

I haven't died...but I did get a smart TV almost two weeks ago.

Mostly I'm just glad I can watch Drew on Pluto without it lagging or freezing like it does through my cable box.

Welcome back, Cora. I'm Lysari.

I'd tell you to pull up an armchair and get comfy but you seem to have done so already.

No, I didn't die, I've just had real life get to me again on top of my mental health going south for a bit.

Honestly, not even Drew is helping much...but I'm doing my best to get through it.

If I explode by the end of this week, y'all have my explicit permission to blame Drew cause there's going to be not one, not two, but three nighttime episodes in addition to the usual five daytime ones.

Y'all...I finally started watching Whose Line last night...and I love it (but only when Drew is hosting, of course).

I got through six episodes last night and Drew had me ugly-laughing throughout all of them.

(Jane could never do that so that should tell y'all something.)

Yeah, I have Amazon Music Unlimited as well. I opted for that on purpose when I switched over cause that lets me listen to anything and everything I want.

My go to was Apple Music for years, but I got tired of fighting with their payment process, so I switched over to Amazon Music cause at least I get that as a bonus with Prime (which means there's no more payment struggles).

Y'all...Drew needs coffee bad today, I think.

He broke a game by accident - he was pulling too hard or something. He laughed about it, though, and I love that he's not perfect.

...well, here's hoping it gets approved. I put it in realistic fiction but the mods have permission to move it if need be.
