Don't be downhearted, Kimmi. We all have our hearts tied strongly to what we do. Judging competitions involves many aspects, not least of which has got to be personal taste. Suppose a horror author entered a competition alongside a romance author and the judge was someone who was a great fan of Stephen King. If the Horror story won, that doesn't mean that the Romance story wasn't great.
Take a step back, feel a little sorry for yourself if you like, and then get down to more writing. I've been there, done that and got a hell of a lot of T-Shirts!

This was really fun for me! It has taken me a minute to scrub my mind and write here, but I am really enjoying the challenge. I had written a 3-story children's series I may post here and see if readers like. It has been searching for a home for a couple of years.
