Inspired by the beauty of it all. Life is good. Will return to normal somewhere down the line. Hopefully, the vaccine will ease the pain of people who are pent-up. We will get through this. Keep the light of prayer on.
Short story submitted. Not Gatsby. But closely related. The story is called "The Egotist Laments".
Why on earth should your first story not be the Naked Lunch? That is exactly what it should be! If you're up to writing it, of course.
There are some here who would have difficulty getting past this site's moderators.
“Format your story into paragraphs of about four sentences or where the narrative should logically break.”

Let's not forget that Ulysses contains a single sentence of 3,687 words. If it's good enough for James Joyce....
Don't like any of these words. But I'm totally in favour of inventiveness and doing things that don't follow the traditional rules. Writers should make up their own words whenever they can, which won't, by definition, be in any dictionary. Did Brian Wilson make up "excitations"? Not sure. But it's not a word I've heard much outside Good Vibrations. Credit to him if he did.

A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked
Eff'n Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers
Whar’s th' peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?
We were truly blessed,
When life was slower,
Soon to be dust,
In a silent butler.
Yet forever hiding
shadow on the wall
a photograph of dust
bringing back memories.
Creates a harsh, white glare
with the rising sun
of angels from blue Heaven
dressed in silken wings
Creating new life
among the fields
with honey bees
and daffodils
Your faith sill see you through
most doors and portals
but payer is the gospel
and the key of life
My grandfather, who never ask for a thing. He taught himself the violin. He read the Bible from beginning to end several times. He was my mentor.
His singing voice is a perfect pitch Bass!
Like a cello of an aspiring nightingale,
Born of an egg, hatched by love,
Renowned, for songs in the twilight.
