Can't I have both? I'll pick lover, if I'm forced, but I'd rather not have to because I think both are essential.

Which spelling do you prefer: Faerie or fairy?
Quote by Rumple_deWriter
effulgent

adjective
1. shining forth brilliantly; radiant
.

Every time I hear the word effulgent, I think of this poem by Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer:

Quote by Spike
My soul is wrapped in harsh repose,
Midnight descends in raven-colored clothes,
But soft... behold!
A sunlight beam
Butting a swath of glimmering gleam.
My heart expands,
'tis grown a bulge in it,
Inspired by your beauty...
Effulgent.

And with that in mind, my word of the day, is laugher:

Laughter is a physical reaction in humans and some other species of primate, consisting typically of rhythmical, often audible contractions of the diaphragm and other parts of the respiratory system.

I do like a good laugh
I suppose, but I'd prefer to know exactly where I was going, so I could make preparations.

Do you have a familiar? (A spirit, usually animal, who guides you... That's a very crude explanation, but to explain it fully would take too many pages.)
Android. I used to like it more when it was fully open source, but now that Google have started closing some of the code or making it difficult for developers to use the SDK, it has gone somewhat south. If they open the code up fully again, then they'll get more innovation. It's still better than iOS, in my opinion because it's so much more Linuxy, whereas iOS is merely Linkux-like. Or maybe that should be Linux-deluded.

Would you go for a drink with Marilyn Manson or Charles Manson?
As I understand, Recommended Reads are given by a single moderator, rather than by the whole moderating team, like with Editor's Picks. My advice, is just to write from the heart and not bother about getting awards. If you write well enough, then awards will come because people will see that you're not merely writing for awards, but for the love of the craft. Or you could bribe someone, I hear Alan (DirtyMartini) likes vodka...

Have you ever done a ouija board?

If you are having a bad day, please don't take it out on others. This was mean.

I wasn't having a bad day, and I wasn't being mean. Being mean would have been suggesting a dictionary, thesaurus and English lessons. This was just a bit of humour. I'm sure if Ghostreader had had a problem with it, he'd have said so himself. There's not much point getting worked up on someone else's behalf.

New question: Why do people often misunderstand the dry wit?
Well, it's morning, and I'm on with my sweet wee Kitten, so that's who I'm listening to right now, and I'm really enjoying her voice =^.^= heart ^.^

What books do you recommend?

Judging by your constant misuse of the English language, like then instead of than, I'd recommend a dictionary.

Do you need some water for that burn?

How do you kindly tell an idiot, no stop no, leave me alone. I dont want your advances, I dont like you like that. No we can't hang out. No dont come to my work, you'll only get my distracted and possibly fired since it is what, my second day. Come on man, I'm not playing hard to get.

Is it really that hard to understand without making me homicidal?

That's pretty damned clear to me, but some of my gender are total aresholes who think that that is playing hard to get. I think the most clear message you could send him is to tell him to back off, or he'll get (take your pick) either a kick in the balls or a visit from the local police. There's not much room for kindness, I'm afraid. He's not being kind to you, so you don't need to be kind back.

Idiots like that make me fear for my gender.
My tea intake has cut down drastically. In fact, my liquid intake has dropped drastically, which I really should do something about. My general tea intake is about two to three cups per day, on a good day. On a not so good day, I can go a good few days without even hydrating properly. I know, I'm an idiot, but that's not to say that I don't hydrate at all. I simply don't hydrate enough.

The recommended intake of water is two litres for an average adult. Going by that, do you hydrate enough?
Kitten! =^.^= heart ^.^ she's beautiful and talking about food, which makes her all passionate and sexy. I love it biggrin
Hat, for sure. I have many different styles, and match them to outfits. It can do wonders to help top off a look.

Peace and quiet or hustle and bustle?
That's a difficult one, but having just watched Castaway, I'm going with Tom Hanks.

Land or sea?

During childhood we have been suffered by this, tables, write it down for ten times. then some sentence, write it till you the last page lol. It made sure that we learnt that very well, programming our mind to not forget that, the strategy worked well. And we been told to do that always, there is nothing called understanding , just repeat it and then deliver it.

that video is not a good example still a closest.

what you do when you feel lonely ?

Ah, yes, learning by rote. It's something that doesn't seem to be done in schools very often, which is a shame because it really is the best way to learn. That type of repetition, I believe is a good thing. Also, I rather enjoyed that video smile

When I feel lonely, I do a lot of things. I sometimes read, maybe write. I like to talk to Aria when I feel lonely and then we end up feeling lonely together, which then makes us feel not lonely.

What do you think of when you think of the colour black?
Yeah, but who wouldn't? If one can't watch a movie with one's 'other half' (bloody hate that phrase btw), then I think one had better reassess whether one really wants to be with them.

Reading that second sentence back, it sounds quite pompous because of the repetition of 'one', so my question is: Do you like repetition? Do you like repetition? Do you like repetition? Do you like repetition? Do you like repetition?
Stupid - lacking intelligence or common sense. A rather cruel word, but one that I use a lot, hence it is the WoTD. There are a lot of stupid people out there, you see. Some are right here in our midst!

Doppelgänger - An eerie double or counterpart to a real person. That is NOT a twin.

I've always thought this word was interesting as to how it came to be part of the English language. As it turns out it has a Germanic roots. Doppel meaning double and ganger meaning walker or goer. In some ways you have to admire the Germans for their efficiency in making up new word. They just stick two or more words together to come up with a new one.

For any that are interested in Doppelgänger Week, check this link.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doppelganger_Week[/quote]

I've actually seen my Doppelgänger, and it's a very strange, surreal experience.

So, going by that, I'll say 'surreal', for my word of the day:

Adjective
1. Of, relating to, or characteristic of surrealism, an artistic and literary style; surrealistic.
2. Having the disorienting, hallucinatory quality of a dream; unreal; fantastic.

I do enjoy a little surreality on occasion.
I think it has to do with the feeling of them, at least for me. Some words, the way they roll off the tongue or the way you make you feel, can be funny or even awkward, which makes one laugh. Well, feeling awkward makes me laugh, anyway. I think, for me, it's mostly mouthfeel and any memories that might be associated with it. Like, when I see a laptop, I automatically think 'sponge', and laugh because one of my friends had just had a brain injury (that was three years ago - doctors don't seem to know what the hell is going on there) and we were talking about fixing her laptop, which she called a sponge. The word association made sense, though, after she'd explained it, which I actually can't remember right now. Damn.

Don't you just hate when your brain goes on strike? What the hell is that thing picketing for, anyway?

Today has been a good one, so far. Lazy, really. I woke up and Skyped with Aria, now I'm sitting naked on my bed, listening to Diamond Head, not wanting to move because it's the perfect temperature. I know I should because I need food. I'm going to a Shamanic circle tonight, which should be fun, then afterwards going to The Necropolis to learn a dance that my witchy friends and I are doing for a ritual. I'm either going to be tired, wired or a mixture of both. I know I'm going to be happy, though, because I already am, and that'll just top off a nice, lazy, happy day. I must remember to switch my phone off for the Shamanic circle, though.

Oh my, why cant I be there! T-T

Just to make you more envious, I'm writing a musing about my time at the Shamanic circle and the dance practice, too. Don't know when it'll be finished, but the story that was told at the Shamanic circle was The Goose Girl

I think they did, after all, they were an astronomer (ASStronomer.) But in all seriousness, they probably didn't think it would turn out to be quite the joke that it is.

Which word makes you laugh out loud every time you see it, no matter the context?
I don't know, I'm not a bloody mind reader.

Don't you wish Ghostreader would stop asking questions about other forum members?
