Is this not the same as the "change one letter" game in the games forum?

No, read the original rules as stated by Andrew. If they are respected it is a totally different word game and not straight forward.

A letter COUNT change has to be enacted.

So, when I posted "rowing" from "grown", the word count changed, a letter changed, and an anagram created.

As Andrew said in his OP, it might seem simple, but it isn't.

I did read the OP... found it confusing. Cant speak for him but I think Larry did as well as he didnt add or subtract one either with grown - wring

I think your explaination is far simpler

Oh my life ..that almost killed me to comment. I love to read and score, it is the comment part, I am lacking in. I get caught up in what I want to say, I keep typing and deleting, in the end I just give up. Phew ..I decided to tap away, not think about it, and hit save. Done and dusted. Even now, I want to go back and edit them ..now I am lying ..delete them. I am trying 😊👍

I agree... lol.. I find the comment part so difficult! I dont want to write " Thats beautiful, thank you for sharing" I want to put something that has a bit more substance and at least try to sound vaguely intelligent.

Tension at Dawn by Simon Combes.
I have studied this painting and others of Simons for hours. He inspired me to paint wildlife. Luckily for me, I was able to ask him anything I wanted to about his paintings, he was my mentor and close friend until his tragic and untimely death.
I am proud to own an original sketch of his that did specially as a wedding present for my husband and I.

I was lazy, slept late and then spent the morning catching up with an old friend.
I care that my country is on the verge of bankcruptcy, the chinese have us by the short and curlies and now we have been whacked with a 16% fuel levy which is going to have such massive repercussions on everything.

I am always there, some distance away, somewhere between land or sea and sky I lay, you may move toward me, yet distant I’ll stay. What am I?

Even though there may be times
It seems I'm far away
Never wonder where I am
'Cause I am always by your side

The Power of love - Celine Dion

If you're not the one for me
Then how come I can bring you to your knees?
If you're not the one for me
Why do I hate the idea of being free?

Eyes on fire, eyes on fire, and they burn from all the tears
I've been crying, I've been crying, I've been dying over you
Tie a knot in the rope, tryin' to hold, tryin' to hold,
But there's nothing to grasp so I let go
