Just got back from a week in Dubrovnik celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary. I managed a few handwritten notes (my wife banned me from electronics of any kind) - question is, can I turn them into a story in the remaining week? Hmmm...

I will do my best, but it might be a very last-minute entry.

Clock is ticking. We've got five terrific entries (well, four plus mine 😋). How high can we go this time? That's hardly enough for a serious competition, folks.

Interesting how many LGBTQ themed stories are popping up. So many LGBTQ people have had to hide their true selves over the years, I guess the theme lends itself to it.

And damn it, I'm all caught up now. I even read my own again (And hated it. Only one that didn't get a like.😳😀). More stories, please!!

I thought of an idea! I thought of an idea! Oh wow, I am so excited. Since the day this comp was posted I've been thinking endlessly of ideas and coming up with nothing. But I thought of something! I hope I'm able to form this into a story. If it's meant to be, I will. Okay. Time to write. ✍️ 🤗 ❤️

I wrote my story and it was now just published! I am elated. Writing it brought back painful and nostalgic memories. ❤️

Sadly, ill-health has kept me from the concentration necessary to complete my comp story. Hopefully, when sensability returns, I will be able to publish.

I hope it gets approved - I've not had the time I wished I'd had (too much going on elsewhere at the moment), and I'd love another week to wordsmith it properly, but hey-ho - hopefully I will get to be part of the competition 😊. The theme and concept seemed so simple on the surface, but when I got down to it, proved decidedly more difficult than I expected to fashion a story. Maybe that should have been the story itself!

Judging by the excellence of other entries, this might have just been a me-problem, though. Loving this field.

So it was not just me. I felt the same. It seemed like an easy one to come up with something interesting for but I went through three different story ideas that failed at various stages of drafting before my entry, the fourth, kind of stuck the landing.
