I actually edited one of my own stories...for the first time ever, btw...one of the literary journals is interested in Sexual Healing, but wanted me to make some minor changes...I had always resisted changing anything in a story, to me the word "edit" is indeed a four letter word, but I realized there are a couple of minor word repetitions early on in the story, and I saw the merit of bringing the word count down to just below 2k...it's easier to get stuff published if the word count is under 2k btw...
So...Sexual Healing went from 2027 words down to 1980 words...if I get it in print, I'll probably post the new version here on this fine site known as Stories Space...otherwise, I might just leave the old version...
I had resisted for the longest making any changes in my stories...I guess I take my writing personal, messing with my stories is like messing with my kids or something, but I did see the merit in this...
And this is a first for me...everything on Stories Space is what you would call a "first draft"...
I don't know that I want to go through this again though...
