Option to hide first lines from view - possible?

The first lines of a story or poem are visible before the link is opened. This isn't always desireable, since anything with a low word count, such as some poetry, is fully visible to be read, but without its appropriate formatting. In other cases, a disclaimer has been put in place when the content of a story might be shocking to some readers, so that the first lines do not appear.

Would it be possible to have a setting so that an author could opt out of having the story preview shown? Or is it in place and I haven't come across it, which is not to be ruled out.
I don't remember what or when it was, but there has been a time or two when I'd wished for that option, so I'll add my tuppence in favour of the possibility, please.
I am not sure if it is possible, but I am bringing it up to the other mods. Hopefully we can have an accurate answer for you soon.

Thank you very much for this input.
You can't get there from here, because when you get there you're still here and here is now there.
Let me find out from Gav and get back to you.

“Many people hear voices when no one is there. Some of them are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day. Others are called writers and they do pretty much the same thing.”

This would still be a great option - any news on it being possible?

Please?
