When we first started this competition I didn't realize how deep into the emotions many of you would go. You got me and I am not ashamed to admit there may have been a few tears involved. You all never cease to amaze us and let me tell you, the one thing the judges all had in common, they struggled with this. Please know that mere points separated the majority of you so if you do not see your name up there, it's not because it wasn't great, because it was. Thank you all and without further ado, here are your top ten!

1st Place: Sixteen Minutes by verbal

2nd Place: Alone by TheShyThespian

3rd Place: Be careful What You Wish For! by AnnaMayZing

4th Place Akycha by  Courgette

5th Place: Flurries of Angel Tears. by  CuriousAnnie

6th Place: Damaged Goods by  Ping

7th Place: The Most Wonderful Gift Of All by  WriterGirl

8th Place: Like Icicles In Her Heart by  OpheliaTusk

9th Place: The Only Living Boy on Bleaker Street by  tinhatcat

Thank you again to everyone who participated, or helped in any way. Y'all are amazing and I appreciate you. If you haven't read them all I suggest you do.

I look forward to the next competition!

To the top three, I'll be in touch shortly concerning your prizes!

EDIT TO ADD:

There was a tiny glitch with the leaderboard on the main Competition page. It does not show Verbal as 1st Place and it does not show Courgette as 4th Place. It is blank for both. We are working to get that sorted as soon as possible. This page is correct. Thanks.

Nicely Done, Big V! 🥳

Congrats to all. 🥂

Thanks Molly! 👍

Iconoclastically incorrigible or just a silly dumb ass...

I was not at all surprised that Verbal won this. I loved his story although I thought they were all wonderful. And congratulations to Anna and Shy too! I am surprised that I did so well!. There are at least 4 other stories I would have placed above mine. Very much made my day, though. This was fun to do.

Congrats to Verbal, ShyThespian and AnnaMayZing as well as the rest of the top 10. I'd have to say I was somewhat astounded by the quality of the entries, so many outstanding stories! Thanx to SS and judges who I have no doubt had a difficult task.

What a contest. Verbal's piece is amazing and a worthy winner. Big congratulations to the top three and to everyone who took part and came up with twisted and/or soulful angles on the theme. Such diversity on show. Really enjoyed reading them all, and pleasantly surprised my off-piste story with its unhappy ending even made the top 10.

Many thanks to the judges who took time to read and rank. This site deserves more eyes on it to attract more authors.

Really excellent comp, and I am genuinely surprised to be on the podium, and to share it with two great writers here. Congrats to everyone who won, placed, and entered. It was among the best comps I have ever seen here! Thanks to Molly for an excellent comp theme, and for putting all this together.

Fire and Ice - A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words competition, first place

Monster - Survivor competition, first place

Excellent competition and inspired such a range of ideas. Congratulations to Verbal and Shy and well done to the runners-up. All the entries were superb and you should all be proud of your stories. Thanks to Molly and the admins for setting this one.

Terrific comp and a deserving top 3 and runners-up. Nice to see this site liven up a bit, too. And a good kickoff for 2025. Congratulations all, especially to Molly, Sherzahd, and the judges. A great team is why we have great things.👍😊

Fabulous , I really enjoyed every entry and didn't envy the judges with this difficult decision. Congratulations to Verbal, ShyThespian and AnnaMayZing, for their podium places. Also congratulations to everyone who entered, read, commented, judged and organized this competition. Well done all.
