Got my first "Editor" credit recently, in a book by William S. Peters Sr...founder of Inner Child Enterprises...

Something different for me, and the reality is I was more of a proofreader than editor per se...you don't really do editing with poetry in the traditional sense...it is more a matter of correcting certain word usages...Bill uses "it's" all the time instead of "its" for instance...repeated words, that sort of thing...one would expect a certain amount of errors in a 400 plus page book, no doubt...and I worked on this one a few days...

Btw, I got this job by spotting a couple of errors on the Inner Child site that nobody else noticed apparently...I'm great at spotting errors in other people's work, but can't spot my own to save my life...something that is not unusual...

I've been told the other day that they have a couple of more books lined up for me...so, might have a new career as an editor...not...

Congratulations, Mr. Editor-in-Drink and best of luck with the new venture. On behalf of writers everywhere, can I now dog-cuss you as a tasteless, pinheaded idiot? That is, of course, how we writer's communicate with editors. smile

I'm kinda liking that "Editor-in-Drink" title...gives me an idea next time I get business cards made up...

And feel free to curse me out however you see fit...why, not? Everyone else does...

Congrats to you, Alan/DirtyMartini!

I often freelance as a proofreader/editor but have not yet gotten a job by pointing out errors on someone's web site. What a fabulous idea! I tend to keep to myself too often, but heck, if this writing gig (in all forms) can pay off literally, why not?

And I too have a hard time finding my own typos, so I guess that makes us all human, right?
