It's no secret that I'm not a huge fan of Amazon for book sales, so this is shocking news - thought I'd share it here for those of you promoting your work on Goodreads.

Hi - Jonathan here

To my shock, I've just seen that Amazon is buying book-review
site 'Goodreads' with its 16 million members.

But when I consider that Amazon dominates book sales online,
and Goodreads members have written over 23 million book reviews,
I can see that the marriage was almost inevitable.

This may have a substantial impact on your book sales,
although the reason why is hidden.

I've revealed all in my latest blog post.

All the best,

Thanks for the info, you two. I've never done anything with, to, or on Good Reads. If I want to bore folks with my take on a book, I'll do it here. ;)

Me too, Mr Rumple

Just a note about Goodreads...one of my author friends does her blog on Goodreads...personally, I think that's a work of genius, rather than having a separate blog site...I think the less sites you have, the better...I think you're better off if you can direct readers to one site where you have your blog, books listed for sale, etc., you're better off...well, you get the idea...
