Spoiled by both (when they stop being mean) so I guess both? Though my dad complains how I'm no longer his daddy's girl.

Excuse the delay in the game here for a bit, but I've gotta help 3rebels4 with some unasked for advice: My THREE daughters 35, 39, and 45 yo. have a certain way of saying "I LOOOVE You, Daddy" that gets them out of trouble with me...especially so if there is a hug involved!! That started when they were much younger than you are now!! You might try that sometime!! Us Daddy-types are forever smitten by that line from our "babies" no matter how old they may be. smile

No excuse needed, as a father of 2 grown daughters, the feeling is mutual. The comment is real.

Yes, always fun spending time with friends.

Did I speak out of turn?

I'm not sure if you spoke out of turn. I can't tell. I bet you're a proud Papa!

How many times in your life have you seen something so beautiful that it literally "took your breath away".

I thank all of you. Hugs!
Okay back to the question at hand... Once, it was snowing and the clouds were white, the house was white, the treesand roof was covered in white. It was so beautiful I stood there for five minutes in awe. Unfortunately, it kinda burned my eyes...

Have you experienced something beautiful but was dangerous too?

I almost stepped on a rattle snake at work. It was beautiful the way it moved.

Have you ever walked into an animal shelter and not walked out with a new pet?

Yes, many times while I was deciding upon my next closest friend.

Have you ever lied in order to get your way?

Hehehe, a real question is who doesn't lie to get there way... um, I did but I forgot what it was for.

Have you ever forgotten something important and remembered at the worst possible time?

Fondest memory would be time spent with Dad when he let me ride along on the tractor.

Have you ever had to walk away from a hopeless situation even when all of your instincts screamed at you that you couldn't?

Many times, some that I didn't ended with bruises and bloody noses, best to walk away.

Have you ever considered a career change?

Yes. From school to a real job! And that's about as far as I got.

What was your first job?

my first ever job to earn me some money was when I was about 10. It was cleaning my brothers motorbike and I was conned into it, thinking I'd make a fortune.. he's not referred to as tight arse Tony for nothing!!

what was your favourite toy as a child?

My favorite toy was my dragon. He was magnificent too. Till I lost him.

Did you ever lose some thing precious?

To answer AD's question: My teddy bear. And to answer Reb's question: My teddy bear.

Some way or the other, my teddy bear got boxed away when my first marriage broke up. Several boxes of my "stuff" were stored away in my parents home. It was only after I had lost my Dad...and was clearing out the house...that I found my Teddy B.B. (Big Bear/Brave Bear/Brawny Bear/ etc.). This was in the spring of 1995...some 24 years after boxes were stored away. My ex. was unsure of what had happened to B.B., but she had been the one to box up stuff.

NOW...Teddy B.B. resides on the book/display case in our living room and is the Best Bear (toy) I have from my childhood. In fact, I can't remember NOT having him as a child. Someday he will be given to my one and only grandson when said grandson is old enough (read that as 'mature') to appreciate the bear.

That's my story.

Question: What do you do when you 'want' to write, but just can't seem to 'get it together' to do so?

Good question. Sometimes I just write crap, sometimes I just don't write at all and sometimes I just try to write what I want to write and hope it comes out how I want it to.

Do you like energy saving light bulbs? Why or why not? (I hate them because they let off such a horrible, 'dirty' feeling light, among other reasons)

I Like them and I use them in all my light fittings. I don't buy the horrible white ones, I buy the gentle glow ones so I get a soft subdued lighting in my house, which I find no different to the light from the regular light bulbs. though how ours in Kenya compare to the ones from elsewhere in the world, I don't know. They make a massive difference to our electricity bills too.

What do you do about the monster under your childs bed? I have suggested that it join us for bedtime stories but it never came out. a bit shy I think, she finds it funny that I told her he must like listening to the stories before he also goes to sleep however, she still uses it as an excuse to try and sleep in my bed and cries when I wont let her.

Funny thing is (and I'm not joking) I was the monster under the bed. Me and my sister shared a room and she had a real bed and I had a pull out. Well, nothing under there but me. However I felt like a skeleton was always behind me.

Most of the time I do dislike those questions...occasionally, though, it serves to illustrate something by asking the "obvious question".

Do you find these games useful/mentally stimulating?
