It was. I kept thinking the guy who showed up was going to be bad. I loved the episode, and I am a fan of Nick Offerman and was happy to see him in this role. I'm on a Linda Ronstadt listening spree now. My only worry is that future episodes will not live up to this episode.

Nick Offerman was SO good. I wonder how much knowing his previous character on Parks and Rec helped with this.
You're right, I don't know if the rest of the series can live up to this.

I’ve just started watching, The Consultant, on Amazon. My wife went to bed early so I thought I would have a look at the first episode. I love it, deeply disturbing on so many levels. I ended up watching four episodes before going to bed. I’ll probably watch the next four tonight. Worth a watch if you like things like, The Twilight Zone and Tales from the Crypt. I just hope that it finishes as good as it started.
Old episodes of The Drew Carey Show.
The Last of Us was really good this weekend.

Faking Hitler. The story of the forged war diaries of Adolf Hitler, around 40 years ago. I remember it well. There was a huge story about them being discovered and verified by a renowned expert and then proven to be faked.
Another excellent German production on Netflix.

We binged the first four episodes of Mel Brooks’ History of the World Part 2 on Hulu. If you are looking for mindless humor with a lot of well-known actors in ridiculous skits, look no further. It won’t win any awards but it provided more than a few chuckles last night.

I just watched a two-parter about The Great Train Robbery which took place in England in 1963. To my surprise, I discovered that this was another one filmed in my local area. We're famous in these parts, it would seem! 🤣
The lead detective was played by Jim Broadbent and the lead villain by Luke Evans who is a great actor. He pops up all over the place now, For those who don't know who he is, here's a clue:

"The Head" on HBO Max. It is a series set in a station in Antarctica. The summer crew leaves for the winter, and when they return, no surprise, people are dead or missing. I laughed at the beginning when they showed the winter crew watching "The Thing" the first night. It's a tradition, they say. It held my attention, and I did not see the end coming. They made a season two, but it was silly and took away from the first.
We've decided that Curb Your Enthusiasm is the official Binging-TV-While-Sick show in our house. We've blown through several seasons already.

I have been trying to watch a film (Split into four parts on Netflix) called Einsatzgruppen: Nazi death Squads.
It is horrible, and I mean, really horrible. It is a documentary featuring actual, uncensored photographs.
It is important that the Holocaust is never forgotten but I am finding it so difficult to watch. It is truly sickening.

Good people will never forget. They can never be allowed to forget this plus the horrors of slavery and Jim Crow. All must be remembered, despised, and pledged "Never Again".
Currently watching Night Agent on Netflix. It's not bad, but it's another one of those shows, which just has to drop the F-bomb wherever it can fit it in, regardless of whether it needs to. It really spoils an otherwise decent show.

I am watching Dead Ringers on Amazon. I remember the movie starring Jeremy Irons. It was a creepy movie, and the series has those vibes but a completely different take. The series is an adaptation of the book and not the previous film. They flipped the gender of the main characters, with Rachel Weisz playing the twins in this adaptation. I am a fan, and she is brilliant so far.
It is unsettling and weirdly watchable at the same time.
Fair warning, it is not a show for everyone. It depicts some things in very graphic detail.

I quite like the movie. Irons is brilliant and it is one of the rare Cronenberg movies where it suggests worse things than it actually shows. Still very disturbing, but less visceral than, say, Videodrome or Rabid.
I am intrigued by what I have read about the series. If we ever get back on Prime, I'll probably give it a whirl.
Halloween looms and my annual story is here. Is it a trick? Or a treat? Let me know.
I finished watching The Diplomat on Netflix. I enjoyed the storylines, even if everything was a bit frenetic. I am a fan of Kerri Russell, and the rest of the cast is excellent. They better have a season two, or I will resent the time I invested in the first season. It ended in a cliffhanger.
Dead Ringers was very creepy, and now I would like those hours back, please. Watching Rachel Weisz might be enough compensation.
I'm watching Love or Death on HBO Max. It's a true crime drama about a woman who kills her friend with an axe and the trial afterward. Hulu had a series (Candy) about the same case with Jessica Biel. The HBO version stars Elizabeth Olsen. It's a weird story with a shocking verdict. I'm not sure why true crime is such a popular genre, but I am guilty of watching many. They are weirdly fascinating.

We watched both the Candy Montgomery things. They were pretty good. The Biel one seemed a little more true to life, but I liked them both.
I'm a little scared to watch Dead Ringers. The Cronenberg one was SO disturbing. Brilliant but cold.
At the other end of the spectrum, I just finished season 2 of Ted Lasso, after avoiding it forever. It's hokey sometimes, but it has a good heart. I'm willing to dive into season 3.

I have been rewatching the series Hannibal. It only lasted three seasons. The first two were good, but the third, not so much. Mads Mikkelsen makes a much better Hannibal Lecter than Anthony Hopkins. Much truer to the novels depiction, in my opinion.
I also finished watching Will Trent, based on characters written by Karin Slaughter. I enjoy her books and the show held my attention. The storylines are a bit ridiculous at times but I like the characters.
I just started binge-watching Young Sheldon. It didn't draw me when I first saw it but now I love it. The kids are all great little actors and Annie Potts' Meemaw is great. To be fair, they are all really good. Now I love it.
