Carey’d away.

Asking me to choose between any other classic rocker and Tommy is pointless cause I'm gonna pick Tommy every time cause nothing and nobody sounds better to me than him (even though I do like a lot of other artists too).

I can't think of many movies where he did play that big a role. The Man Who Fell To Earth is the only one I can think of. Even in The Hunger he goes away fairly early.

That's on my list of them. It's probably my favorite look of him's, too.

You could watch Last Temptation of Christ and just rewind the scene with him as Pilate a few times. 😉

I could but I kind of want to see something where him's in like every scene. Even Labyrinth doesn't have enough of him.

Carey’d away.

I was going to watch another David Bowie movie this past weekend but the one I had in mind had him dying at the end and that was too close to irl events so I passed.

...and in other news, just when I thought I wasn't so into George Harrison anymore, I was proven wrong. I think I really, really like him - but definitely not as much as Tommy.

Tommy was in my dreams last night.

Him was walkin' round my local grocery store and I wanted so badly to talk to him but I was too shy. The weird part is that I was convinced it wasn't him; just someone who looked like him.

...but it was and I woke up mad that I was too shy even in my dreams.

Have you seen him as the Goblin King in Labyrinth? First time I have seen a bit goblin.

When I was thirteen, yeah, but not since - someone I knew showed it to me and then basically ensured I'd never share any of my interests until I was much older.

My favorite Bowie song. Life on Mars.

I haven't a favorite yet - mostly I just marvel at him's interesting lyrics - but I've seen images of him in The Man Who Fell to Earth and...oh my.

Carey’d away.

I - I was listenin' to David Bowie earlier and all I can think about is listenin' to more later. Him kinda grew on me and...yeah.

Carey’d away.

...no, I've not died.

Real life caught up to me for a bit on top of my being in the middle of three or four stories I can't post here at the moment (every time I'm stuck on one, I just start another) and being fully immersed in Pettyphoria.

Carey’d away.

I've legit written more in the last week or so while listening to my Tommy than I have in the last year.

It certainly stared into my soul. Give it a read, folks.

Thanks for that. I'm also working on somethin for the other side but that popped into my head and wouldn't leave me alone so...there we are.

Carey’d away.

Y'all, if you're going to listen to Georgie's solo work, do yourself a favor and skip him's first album - unless you actually like sitar music, that is.

Carey’d away.

I'm not sure if this'll make any sense to anyone other than me, but I really, really love the way Tommy's voice starts to fade into an echo at the end of every song.

Elyse, you were kidding about crushing on Tom Petty!? I'm so disappointed....

No, not Tommy, never Tommy. More like I was kidding about George Harrison at first...but now it's not a joke whoops.

Carey’d away.

Oh god. I really, really need to stop joking about being attracted to classic rockstars cause I keep forgetting that one day it might not be a joke.

Carey’d away.

The deep sense of relief I feel whenever I listen to Tommy is unreal.

It's a bit like coming home after a long, stressful day, honestly.

Carey’d away.

Oh wow. I kinda just know him as Zowie Bowie though, not Duncan Jones. I'm not sure why or how that works though.

Anyone alive who doesn’t host at least a tiny crush on David Bowie has a heart of stone.

That's not wrong. At the same time, though, that's also how I feel about Drew and Tommy.

At least you have good taste in rock stars. 😋

Well, there is that. I can thank Drew for that cause him is teaching me well. Today, I'm being Petty though.

Oh boy, watch out rock stars. 😉

Yeah...I think I fell for David Bowie without really realizing it. Like, I keep liking/following every page I can find and...yeah.

Carey’d away.

...well, I'm officially in classic rockstar loving hell - and I love it. Why is it always the dimples?

(And no, this isn't about Tommy, or at least not just about him.)

Carey’d away.

Yesterday I was having a rough day but as soon as I put on Tommy, I felt a lot better. Something about him's music soothes me in ways I can't explain - but I have to be careful, too, cause Pettyparalysis is a very real thing.

Describes Mr. Petty perfectly.

I would hope so cause I'd feel bad if I insulted him in some way.

Also maybe this is weird but I don't like to listen to him if him's doing a duet with someone cause when I say I want to listen to Tommy, I really, really mean it.

Backups are okay though - as long as they're not too involved.

Ha! Okie music made me laugh (both my parents are native Okies).

...well, she understood after I said it was basically working man's rock. I think she must've confused it with, like, rockabilly or something.

And then she said Bob Dylan's voice sounds like Burgess Meredith as the Penguin in Batman (cause I was telling her about The Traveling Wilburys).

Carey’d away.

Quote by Mendalla

He wanted company on the tour bus? 😊

Well yeah...I guess that's true.

Oh god. My mom basically described him as 'okie music' today after I tried to explain heartland rock to her.

Good day! Hi, Elyse. The world needs more Petty, even if he was a ... bad dum ... Heartbreaker.

Him's the only true heartbreaker, so why was it Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers?

Also Drew and Tommy were both in my dreams last night, kinda just watching over me like, 'That's our baby and we love xem.'

Carey’d away.

I've woken up with Tommy's songs stuck in my head for the past few days. Today it's 'The Waiting.'

Also my PT says him has a whiskey sounding voice but I'm not sure what that means.
