Time Stories

time

Once there was a beautiful princess named Ijlal. She had hair the color of dates, and eyes as blue as the sea, eyes that were so captivating she had thousands of suitors falling at her feet every day. She had the most renowned kings and princes begging for her hand, she was the envy of all women, near and far. But it was not enough for her. She was always bored, constantly seeking ways to entertain herself, she never stop...

Time Passages

Time waits on no one.

We, in our youth, thought time was never ending. We couldn't seem to wait, wanting to be older. Looking ahead always appeared so far away.Glancing back we question, where did it all go? Age wrinkles faces, hair disappears, turning grey. Body shape changes, muscles weaken and sag. Youth diminishes, making us wish we had livedin the moment and enjoyed more of our youth. Now as time seems to have vanished our minds fillwith th...

Temporal Enforcers

Two scientists complete their time machine and find out what keeps the universe in order.

Dr. Zach Robertson looked at his watch like an excited child. Some people say he was still a child, but the 26 year old genius showed the adults what that child could do when he received his doctorate in quantum physics at the age of 15. Through all the lectures, studying, lab work he has spent in his short life, patience was one trait he has yet to master. The past three and half hours he has been watching 74 year old Ge...

A Winter Retreat

As the cliche goes: a me-time (a gravely needed one, at that)

Hours of road monotonythe GPS, a self-imposed dictatorshiptired, bored, no more beauty in the snow...thena private gateway;a much anticipated spectacle:The Inn.A compelling magnificence. No need for a color, a shade, or hue;a winter embrace of splendor;the smolder of her fireplace:I feel home.Spacious beyond the eye's capacity, not at all an inn of limits;high-risers' luxury at hand;many may deem impersonal, out of futile ha...

Time Forgotten

What I think about time and life

Time was never in our hands,it seeps through the endless cracks in our minds. Fools are those who reach out to grasp the hands of father time, for it exists in a parallel world, where two can never converge in its path. With only the beginning created by men, it cease to have no ending, but rather coils and twists in a ring, and encircle those within its grip, into an endless swirl of suffering. To travel back into the pa...

The Creek Without a Name

A tiny dried up creek comes to life after a storm and becomes mighty

Right now it’s dry, a bed of stones, but when it storms, this tiny creek roars and rumbles, rushing like a river, twisting and swirling as it comes to life again, awakened by the weather to be what it’s meant to be, its brown green water overflowing its shallow banks, not deep enough to have a name, not known on any map but swift as any creek in any land before it disappears, its source unknown, and yet it comes back ti...

From Morning Songs: Morning Moon

Looking at the morning moon at dawn thinking about others who are watching

Looking at the morning moon, pale now in the southern sky, moving slowly like me,while the sun is rising in the east, bringing dawn and another day,and even though the trees are stilland it’s quiet here,no birds at the feeder, the squirrels have not begun their chatter,my dog is still asleep, yet everything is moving, spinning, ticking, breathingand somewhere far awaytears are in the corner of sad eyes,or a smile has come to s...

The Clock

Looking at the clock ticking my life away

Sitting at my table, looking at the clock, its long finger pointing at the minutes, while the shorter finger holds the hours down like a thumb pushing in a tack to hold time still, but nothing stops the orbit of those fingers. Outside the wind is blowing and the trees bend and sway in the wildness of this cold, grey day, while I look at the clock, its fingers ignorant of the wind and the beating of my heart, or what is ha...

The Cosmic Irony of Time, Money and Motivation

Is it just me that only seems to be able to make use of time when I don’t have any?

This morning I got up at 7:50am, watched the news (well, BBC Breakfast, but close enough) while eating my breakfast. I worked crunching number for an education organisation (I’m an office temp) for six hours, bar a half hour lunch break. On said lunch break I read a few more chapter of Dante’s Inferno: A retelling in prose*. At 3:00pm I headed home to switch bags and catch the bus into the city centre to go to the library...

Satan and She

falling for the fallen angel...and at his mercy is she...

INTRO : Falling for the fallen angel and at his mercy was she... I love you she said And that is your blessing and your cause for remorse Cause I know who you exactly are Satan And care for you everyday, evermore All those doe eyes that you brought tears to and all those dreams undone maybe it was just a jest for you but never again will it be done. For I love you Satan and you are responsible for me And you know that too...

Rewind Time (Darkness)

Kind of a little dark.

Rewind time. I climb,The tree of life,Clambering,Longing to reach the top.I keep falling,Like Alice.Can't find my footing,Like Bambi.I keep crashing to rock bottom. Photographs frozen,Still memories,Of pain,Of good times,Of bad.Almost atop,But I slip again,Becoming one with darkness.Feeling hopeless.Feeling pathetic.Unworthy of taking up space.You may not get it,But the place I am in,You aren't.It's dark.It's cold.It's lo...

On the train to the city we see a bunch of kids dressed as elfs, Santa Clauses, and slutty Mrs. Clauses..it's packed...Saturday. An awkward staring fest as to who gets the best seats and who's nice enough to give their seats to a lady and stand the whole time. Then get this....a couple a more kids in Santa outfits come, sporting a 12 pack of bud light. America: drunk Santa Clauses....for the kids, you know? They might as...

Friday "I want you out of this house." Silence as I pack. "You're better off dead than doing what you're doing! You know that!? You're better off fucking dead!" I continue to pack...shirt sleeves (it's October), hoodies, Deodorant.... "That's what these drugs will do to you...they're going to fucking kill you, slowly and painfully. You're better off fucking dead!" Maybe I am...I don't know. I continue to pack: Xbox games,...
