He accidentally got out five years ago and was missing for five weeks. So these past five years were a bonus. He was such a sweet comfort when stress was too much.
I remember this so well. It was astounding that he was found after all that time. My first cat was a wonderful chocolate point Siamese that my husband snuck into the house on Christmas Eve for me. He didn't like cats, but since we both worked, we figured a cat was preferable to leaving a dog. We had that cat for 11 years and I adored him. He got out into the garage and a neighborhood dog raced in and chased him out into the woods. It took a couple of weeks before my husband found his body. I think I have a nervous breakdown due to grief. Good old husband, after a few weeks, took our 4 year old son and went and picked up a Siamese mix giveaway from the newspaper. Surprised me. I said "I will never love an animal that completely again, it hurts too much to lose one." Well, that little mix turned out to live 22 years and was the joy of the whole family (not including our dog). He acted just like Apollo with all those smarts and loving. I read later that get a female dog and a male cat. Dog stays closer to owners and home and male cat is much more loving. Of course, not all animals read the same advice I do, but I think it is generally a good rule. Those male cats! I know you must miss him. But as my husband said, our pets live too long to get another one. Course we did get a stray dog that lasted 11 years and I think was poisoned by the dried chicken treats made in China, even though I bought them in Costco and never even looked to see where they were made.
Blah, blah, blah. Hugs to you.

I watched Three Pines on Amazon. I love Alfred and Molina, so I gave it a chance.
"A man investigates murders in Three Pines; he sees things that others do not: the light between the cracks, the mythic in the mundane, and discovers long-buried secrets and faces a few of his own ghosts."
It was well done, and I enjoyed the storylines. I hope there will be a second season.
I think they did a good job with the cast. I have enjoyed many of her books. And this one was a good plot too. Nothing like a locked room to get your juices flowing.

Glad to have you back, Mendalla. I hope you enjoyed your vacation. I saw a couple of videos about 'free men of the land' from the Ontario area. It is nice to know Canada has ignorant, crazy people too.
Well said. I didn't know Canada had any of those Americans up there.

I got an email from a political party asking if I'm interested in running for office. Just talked with Talia, and I'm going to take a tentative step toward it, and talk to someone this week.
Wow! Bravo! So exciting. Please keep us updated. And hope you enjoy the movie.
