Payment: £75 per story, which at current exchange rate is approx $121. Rights are non exclusive world English language anthology rights
This is the longest-running best short stories of the year anthology. As we've moved the annual publication date of the volume to make place for a Best of the Best volume (appearing early 2012) I am exceptionally seeking submissions of stories previously published, whether in print or online, during calendar year 2010 AND first half of 2011. Any length up to 8,000 words, although am NOT into 'quickies' (ie under 2000 words or so) unless they are truly exceptional.
As to what I like, my tastes are idiosyncratic, but best refer to any of the previous 15 volumes of the The Mammoth Erotica series < http://www.facebook.com/l/hAQAX_7PzAQDRnJbJy_bhJGe6qsmum99qpgu-26ht48IzNw/tinyurl.com/44qhubt> (there were five unnumbered volumes before we switched to numbering them). I'm broadminded, but tend to prefer strong characterisation and some modicum of plot as opposed to merely mood pieces.
Submit by mail as tear sheets, manuscripts or photocopies (NOT e-mail, please as I cannot face the prospect of reading over a thousand or so submissions on a computer screen). If I accept your story, I will then require it as Word document at a later date only.
