If you are going to submit something to a literary journal you might as well submit to one that pays...getting paid is good...

OK, not going to get rich here, but the Raleigh Review pays a cool ten bucks for stuff...hey, that's big money in North Carolina...

I'll just add another onto this thread...

"The oldest literary magazine in America, published at the University of Northern Iowa. Interested in high-quality poetry, fiction, and nonfiction on any subject; especially interested in work that addresses contemporary North American concerns and issues, particularly with the environment, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and class."

The NAR pays $1 per line for poems or $5 per 350 words of prose (minimum payment for either genre is $20, maximum $100).
