Les Champs-Élysées - Joe Dassin
Some nice new tracks out today, but I'll highlight this one. Nightwish live, even virtual, is always a treat. This is from their Live at the Islander Arms virtual concert that happened in May 2021 and is now included on BluRay as part of a new edition of their last album, Human : || : Nature.

And Christian heavy metal may seem like an oxymoron to those of us who grew up with the Satanic Panic nonsense, but Stryper actually dates to that era (started in 1983) and is still with us today (reunited in 1999). It's solid, old school heavy metal even if the lyrics are often about Jesus.
Isaiah 53:5 references the verse translated in the King James as "with his stripes we are healed" which is where the name "Stryper" comes from.

Tales From Six Feet Under and Tales..., Vol. II by Charlotte Wessels may be my albums of the year. Amazing work from this Dutch singer.

On Friday, I attended the funeral of my daughter-in-law's father who passed away suddenly aged just 70.
He had already worked out how his funeral should go and the final music as his coffin was interred brought floods of tears from all present.
How could it not when the piece he chose was 'The End' by the Doors?
