Happy New Year to Milee and anyone else celebrating today...

Interesting article...Do you have a special outfit you wear when you write?

According to this article, one in fifty women write naked...

http://www.askaboutwriting.net/408nwriters.htm

(giggles) I have never written naked as I mostly write at work when I have a break. The idea is hilarious though. I would never write in the bath because I like to read in the bath. I can't write at home because I always get distracted by something e.g. housework, chores and other things

Today is the two year anniversary of my writing stories...

My first attempt at story writing, as an adult anyway (I'm sure I had to write a few stories in school), was a story called "Jimmy Gets Replaced" which appeared on an "adult" site on April 21, 2009...it was short, under 1000 words, and notable for the lack of attention it received as much as anything...it had a 3.5 out of 5 average, and got no comments until months later...

Just reflecting back that if I went by the reaction to my first story, I probably would have quit writing there and then...

I'm glad I didn't...

I like to write on my tummy on bed only wearing my panties and my bra. It makes me crative and the words just sort of flow.

Hmmm...the thought of that might inspire me as well...check a few posts up, I posted an article about just that...

On another note...has anyone tried this?

I saw it mentioned in a LinkedIn writing group, and some people seem to really like it...just thought I'd bring it up here...

How come Microsoft Word defaults to Calibri 11?

Does anyone actually use Calibri 11? Why not Times New Roman 12, or something else people actually use???

I will be resuming work on my novel "Love Conquers All"...it will be the novel version of the short story that appears here with that title...

I had started work on the novel last year, and posted one chapter on Stories Space's sister site under the name "Sleeping With The Enemy"...my work on it got a major set-back when my computer got stolen in Sept. 2010, and I lost a lot of notes I had in the computer case. I sort of lost my momentum, but hope to resume again soon...I'll be posting the first five chapters here on Stories Space, nowhere else, and if I manage to get a publishing deal...which is my ultimate goal at the moment, those five chapters will probably be deleted from this site...

That is the plan, for now...wish me luck, I'll probably need it...
Cheers,
Alan.

Whenever anybody asks me my favorite color.. I always say "grey".. they look at me like I'm an idiot.. and then they say "with all the colors of the rainbow why would I pick grey?".. and I say.. "because it's the color behind the rainbow"..

My 3rd mother's day and I finally got breakfast in bed!
As the King of Everything... I hereby pass a rule that all mothers get breakfast in bed.. a foot rub.. a dozen roses.. the laundry done and folded.. kitchen cleaned.. then taken out for dinner and a movie.. Happy Mother's Day to all of you...
Found out today that I sold my fourth story this year...

So, I'm rather happy about that...

Out of 11 stories I've submitted to paying e-Zines since November 2010, I've sold 4 and had 7 rejected...not bad, I think, considering none were actually written with the idea of selling them in the first place...

As far as poems go, I'm 0 for 8...I've submitted 8 poems to the same paying e-Zines, and so far they've all been rejected...

Doing a bit better with the non-paying e-Zines in that regard...but, it's nice to actually get paid...
