OK, - mea culpa...
I just read the Wikipedia entry for Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood.
Seems it was written specifically FOR Nina Simone, by Bennie Benjamin,
Gloria Caldwell and Sol Marcus.
So I was wrong.
As Walt Whitman used to say: "I am large. I contain multitudes."
Apparently, when Mae West recorded that album of covers, she said:
"I think these Doors ought to be shut."
