It's been snowing here all day.

We are supposed to be getting a storm starting, conveniently (not), during afternoon rush hour today and running through the night. Fun, wow.

I shall put on the coffee. How about some FireRoasted Spring Fling? May make those of us dealing with winter feel warmer. And for teas there's Yorkshire Gold and Raspberry Royale. Hot water is on for whatever other hot beverages (other teas, hot chocolate) take your fancy. Sodas are stocked if you're craving something cold (smiles at our Aussie members).

Taking a shot at an old story idea in hopes of getting the juices flowing again. We shall see.

Morning all.

I start every morning making five phone calls and sending two emails. That's the White House, my Congressmen, State Representatives, and the Attorney General of the Free State of Colorado. Takes me about ten minutes, and is my second week straight doing it. I'm going to keep doing it.

Coffee please.

Woo hoo!! New comp!!! (Dang, ninja'd by the admin)

Writer's Block Competition! | Stories Space

I might just be able to beat that short timeline since there's a long weekend looming (Family Day in most parts of Canada, I think Americans have one, too)

And to help you with that writer's block, we've got some nice, strong Dark Roast Costa Rican coffee on. The teas are steeped good and black. There's Tetley's Orange Pekoe and Twining's English Breakfast. Hot water is on for other teas or hot chocolate.

Let's get writin'!!

Cold and sunny here. Sunlight is bouncing off the snow and making the day bright and welcoming.

Didn't sleep well last night. Coffee would be swell.

Peace all.

Cold and sunny here.

Here, too, now, but only after getting another 6-8 inches of snow last night. Took me 30-40 minutes just to clear the mess left by the plows (both road and sidewalk get plowed here). Then my wife put in another half hour or something like that for the actual driveway. Winter looks pretty but can be bloody exhausting.

Woo hoo! The comp is getting rolling. One up and one submitted I hear. I will shoot to get at least a first draft on the weekend.

If you need some coffee or tea to help get past your writer's block, this is the place. We have Deathwish Dark Roast on for coffee (sorry, but I was listening to some fairly heavy goth metal this morning so it kind of fit). Tea-wise, there's Yorkshire and Sunday Tea. Hot water is ready for other hot beverages and there's sodas in the fridge if you're needing something cold.

Weekend looms. What's up, Inspirators?

Happy Valentine’s Day, peeps! ❤️

Help yourself to some yummy cupcakes!

Just a simple girl from Kentucky scribbling her way through this great big world.

Thanks for the cupcakes, WG! They look tasty!

The comp looks cool. Sadly, I can't think of anything to submit.

We are having a nice V Day here. I hope everyone is having a fine one, regardless of how you are celebrating (or ignoring) it.

Coffee please.

I swear my acupuncturist unblocked me. I felt pressure in spots while lying there and he said it was energy blocks being removed. I practically wrote my entry in my sleep and it’s meh but I’m forcing myself to get out there. Good distraction from Dad stuff. 😊

I’m taking myself to see the Paddington movie tonight. 😊

Sometimes yourself is the best date, eh. 😉😋

Yup. I don’t have to share the popcorn! smile

Nothing getting pricked or poked, but some beans got ground so I can offer you some fine Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee this weekend. Teas are Scottish Breakfast and Buddha's Blend. There's hot water if you're after other teas or hot chocolate. There's sodas in the fridge but I, for one, am sticking to hot beverages this weekend. Supposed to be a big snowstorm through today and tomorrow so I expect to be out in the cold with my shovels at some point. So far, perhaps ironically given the theme, a comp entry eludes me.

I watched “The Gorge” on Apple TV last night. I liked it.

Suddenly feeling better. No longer wanting to delete my poem in other comp. Feel ok about my entry in this one. Excited to finish a History Untold story about a Salem witch for here. So woohoo!

Enjoy today, peeps! I look forward to your comp entries! smile Espressomarkie set the bar high!

The weather is wild here. We had snow last week, and there will be high winds and heavy rain this weekend. It will be around sixty degrees on Sunday and then down to the twenties on Monday, and a snowstorm is predicted for Wednesday into Thursday—a little bit of everything.

There's nothing new here, but I'll take that over any drama or crisis. Have a good Sunday, everyone.

Same here, Gillian. Thunder and lightning at 5am and snow at 6am… 3 inches already!

Happy Sunday, peeps! smile

Thundersnow or the temp dropped between 5 and 6?

Probably at about 6" total since yesterday morning. At least it stopped here for a while yesterday evening, then restarted overnight. Other parts didn't get the break I'm hearing. I shovelled this morning. Holiday tomorrow (Family Day we call it) so had to be able to get a care out to shop.

No sign of plows, road or sidewalk. If I find out that they were running at reduced capacity due to the long weekend or something, I'll be right pissed. This storm was in the forecast for days so they should have invoked whatever clauses in the contracts were needed to get people on standby. My nephew is a heavy machinery operator in another city and his employer does plowing for commercial clients in the off-season. he's often required to be up at 5 or 6 on snow days.

Did up a fresh batch of coffee and pots of Orange Pekoe and Earl Grey. Needed a hot bevvie myself after shovelling. -6C with a wind chill of -11C (21F and 12F for you Americans).

Just popped in to get some tea, but I'll brew up some Costa Rican dark coffee, and leave pots of Orange Pekoe and Darjeeling teas on the side for folks. Hot water for hot chocolate or other teas, of course.

Sorry – don't have any goodies to offer – other than my enchanting personality, I mean.

'Bye! Sunny day here today, cooler after yesterday's rain. I think it's about 16 or 17C – a long way from -8-10 at home!

I wonder if our snow service found our house under all the snow?

We'll find out later this month!

LOL. Yeah, we got way too much snow in this province. My neighbour is selling and the For Sale sign is almost buried. Supposed to be just flurries for a few days now, though, so the worst seems to be over. Colder, though.

Thanks for getting the hot beverages set up. Family Day here so no work. I'm trying to get a comp entry going but, ironically given the theme, I seem to be blocked. I do have the bare bones of an idea, just not sure it can be done in 1000 words. Will start bashing something out and see what happens, I guess.

Later, alligators.

No snow here, except what's left on the ground. Sunny day, in the 40s.

Woke up too early, so a bit groggy. Critique group tonight, so I need to wake up.

Shovelling is done, hopefully for a while. Crap this is turning out to be a nasty winter.

Will start bashing something out and see what happens, I guess.

And that worked. I have a draft. And it's only over by c. 300 words. Editing, here I come.😊

They changed the forecast, so no snow or maybe a few flurries on Wednesday. It makes me kind of sad. I like snow. It's a good excuse to stay in. I'm having a hard time coping these days so staying in suits me. The news certainly is not helping. Sigh...

I'm going to go and try to read or binge watch something mindless in television.

Stay warm and healthy everyone.

Good morning!! Sunny but cold here. At least there's no new snow. We've got enough to last us, thank you.

There is some Deathwish Dark Roast in the coffee pot. For teas, there's Russian Caravan and Irish Breakfast. Hot water is ready for other hot beverages. Soda stock is replenished for those seeking to cool down rather than warm up.

So my comp entry went like greased lightning this time through. Started from scratch with the basic idea, but left out one element that was proving problematic. I have it in drafts but, as usual, will give it a final read through after work. If I still like it, then I'll hit the Publish button.

Snowing here right now, and snow isn't even in the forecast. Strange days, indeed. Most peculiar Mama.

Sold a story to a Canadian mag: Gaslight Pulp! Any of you Canadians heard of it?

Coffee please. I found a rice krispie treat under my chair, I'll nibble on that!

Is that a hint? 😉

Yeah, we are a bit short on edibles anymore with the cookie ladies gone. So, I shall endeavour to get something going. Snack of the day, we'll call it. I have a bakery lined up. To kick off, pecan pie. I'll also keep the freezer stocked with ice cream.
