Thank you for the delicious treats, Molly. I will have a chocolate croissant. What a beautiful morning this continues to be. 😊

Thank you also for the link to Competition Inquiries. As written there, I think it is a nice and smart idea you are reaching out to the writers to see what we would like in a competition.

They are not as lovely as the cookies above, but one cannot pop in the lounge and not leave a tasty offering.

Ooh, Molly brought treats!

Thinking of you and your family, Gill.

Another day, another crushing Mets loss. It ain’t easy being a Mets fan. I have even been flying our Mets flag from the porch. If the Mets lose, I am flying it upside down, like Alito’s wife.

Coffee and a cookie please. I should bring in treats sometime.

Costa Rican Gold coffee this morning, and I've made it in a French Press – Le Monde, to be specific, so if it tastes a little inky, that's why.

Teas are Orange Pekoe (a black tea, oddly enough), and Oolong.

I've emptied the lemonade, and replaced it with fresh-squeezed apple cider – YUM!

This year's crop of apples is outstanding so far, and Lady Jay and our family have discovered a new strain which is about the best we've ever tasted: Golden Gala. It's a cross between Golden Delicious, which are crisp but have almost no flavour, and Gala, which are sweet and crisp-ish. Golden Galas are very crisp, very sweet, have a thin skin, and can be used to cook as well as eat right off the tree! While they last, we're buying nothing else!

Hope Gillian is coping. Like Verbs, I can be a good listener if you want an empathetic ear.

Take care, everybody!

Have never had Galas and wasn't aware of Golden Gala but might give them a look. My apples of choice tend to be McIntosh and Empire (hybrid of Macs and Red Delicious). Thanks for the tip, Bear. And for getting things spun up for the weekend.

Throwing on some dark roast coffee from some bag. It's a bit of a "try your luck" day.

Teas? Hmm. Maybe this one and that one. One is definitely black, the other definitely green. Beyond that, let's see.

And for munching, here's some healthy stuff.

Coffee from some bag!? Okay, I will drink pretty much anything.

Stick a fork in the Mets. They’re done. It was a good run, and I am not complaining. Yankees-Dodgers World Series, just like everyone predicted. Sigh. I will watch I guess.

Not much else going on. Writing and walking are on the agenda.

Coffee and a cookie please.

We have a neighbor who flies an upside down American flag. I find that SO disrespectful and unpatriotic. I really was gonna fly my Mets flag upside down after they lost, but Talia talked me out of it. Keep the neighborhood peace.

Speaking of the neighborhood, loud barky dogs woke us up this morning. Sigh.

Some old day here. Write and walk and No Man’s Sky.

Good morning all.

Nothing new here. Shutting down the sprinkler system today, just ahead of the first frost. Goodby summer. Hello autumn.

I was about done with my weird SE Oklahoma history lesson story, and I got sucked into a scary story about a horsefly tormenting an armed man during a domestic violence situation. Guess whose side the fly is on?

Hope everyone is well. 11 days until the election. Gulp!

Coffee and cookies please.

Good afternoon! Long meeting this morning and I now feel like crap. Son and d-i-l are in town for a few days, so at least I get to see them this week.

Vibes for you and the other Americans. I hope this turns out better than it appears it will and you end up with a proper, peaceful transition of power.

Good morning! Take warning! The coffee is hot and in the pot! So's the tea for me and thee!

How's things, everyone. Back to more seasonal weather after a nice warm spell. Overall, it has been a fairly nice October. Trees around my yard haven't even dropped much save a couple that always come down early.

Just a heads-up: I did an interview with an online magazine for Bear and Girl. One thing they asked is how readers could connect with me if they wanted to know more. I gave them an email address, but also said that I drop in from time to time and then could connect with me here. I also recommended StoriesSpace as a place where they could work on writing their own stories.

I would doubt that there will be a flood of groupies (worse luck!), but I did want to warn everyone of the (highly unlikely) possibility!

I downloaded the Bear/Girl book and will get you a review soon, James.

Same old thang here. Write and walk and worry about the election. I am doing my best to ready myself for all outcomes. The sure outcome is it is gonna take at least a week to figure out who won, maybe longer. And the amount of BS is going to increase to fill every available crack and crevice. Sigh.

Sorry that got a little roomy and gloomy. I’m done whining. It’s a beautiful day today. Any cookies left? And coffee!

I'll be shocked if there's a clear winner by Inauguration Day at the rate things are going. Sad to see an election in the "world's greatest democracy" probably settled by judges rather than votes. Vibes, Americans. You'll need them.

I do this from time to time but, yeah, it doesn't seem to get much action out. Oh well, at least you tried. Need to get a copy of the book downloaded. Just be warned that my patience for actually reading fiction is a bit low right now. At least I have some motivation for reading this one.

Goooooooooooooooooooooooood Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooorning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another week is winding to a close. Fallish weather is back in my world with some frost risk looming on the weekend. And things get spooky in the coming week. Very scary, kids!

For some seasonal caffeine, we've got Dragon's Lair Dark Roast from Bones Coffee. Ooooooo.

Tea wise, we've got some Pumpkin Spice Chai (not my groove but it's seasonal) and Raspberry Royale.

Pitchers are washed up and refilled with iced tea and lemonade. Soda stock looks good.

How's things? Plans for the weekend?

The old bookshop owner had something special for Dave.

Plans for the weekend? Nary a one. I may buy some shoes before winter hits.

I am determined to be recklessly optimistic about the election. Everything will be fine (he said hopefully). I’ll quit discussing politics now.

Dodgers-Yankees tonight (sorry Red). A classic American matchup! Who are you rooting for?

I fear we may run out of cookies soon! Cora? Sara? I will forage for crumbs on the floor. Coffee please!

Really, neither. Baseball isn't my thing. But with a series like that, might be best to just flip a coin and then enjoy the fun unless you're a hardcore fan of one of them.

Now that's something I can handle pumpkin spice in. Desserts not tea. That's my motto for the stuff.

Sunny but a bit chilly in my world. How's things out in the rest of the world?

I'll put on some La Chicas Dark Roast Nicaraguan coffee. For teas, I'll put on some Buddha's Blend and Sencha.

Working on a new story. It will be a long one but I'm going to do it in one big file and then break up into chapters later. I found trying to work in chapters was a distraction and might be part of why my other chapter pieces are flailing.

Basic plot is that a mystery woman is shipwrecked (well, boatwrecked) on the private island of a playboy tech billionaire. She's a biologist doing research in the area and convinces him to let her do research on the island. That opens the door to a relationship but her mysterious past eventually intrudes...😨 Right now, there's a scene early on that is too explicit for SS but I'll see if I want to stay on that track or tone it down to something R-rated so I can use this site. The scene just establishes the billionaire's cred as a "playboy" so could work without the sexy details. Genrewise I am thinking romance with a bit of a thriller element or maybe, depending on where I go with the mystery past, paranormal romance.

Good morning, folks! Sunny, cool fall weather continues in my world.

Putting on some Deathwish Dark Roast coffee. Teas are Yorkshire Gold and Earl Grey. Washed up the pitchers and put them away. No one seems to be drinking iced tea and lemonade anymore. There's our usual selection of sodas if you need something cold. Fall shipment of hot chocolate mix and mini marshmallows is in so I've got got hot water if you want that or other teas.

How goes it?

The old bookshop owner had something special for Dave.

All good here. I had almost 6,000 downloads of the Bear and Girl ebook since last Wednesday.

Now, if I could just sell that many when it wasn't free, I'd be in business.

Still, since I'm not in it for the money, hopefully this will get the word out.

I'll have a mug of Earl Grey and mosey back to a booth to ponder the Witch-ness of What…

Morning all. Thanks for the coffee and treats.

Glad the book is doing well, James.

World Series is starting up again today. It’s loo kinda over already - we’ll see if the Yankees can get a toehold the next three nights.

And the election is 8 days away. Quite the rally at Madison Square Garden last night. I won’t comment, other than Wow. It’s stark rhetoric, and a stark choice.

Coffee and a cookie please.
