Before I would paint the cabinets I would take six or seven months to study the decision.

You sure you're not in politics?

Congratulations, Larry on your successful painting project. Good luck with the cabinets. Mine are a veneer over white so we could paint the white parts but we'd have to replace the doors and other veneer parts.

Happy Thanksgiving, whether you're Canadian or not. We all have things to be thankful for. And if you need a break from your American game, there will be CFL football tomorrow. 3 downs and a bigger field so it's kind of different.fIdX24CI32NuJYQP

Oo, cookies. I'll have pumpkin pie with my morning tea.

No turkeys here. We're making jambalaya (our version of it, at least) for dinner tonight. Still thankful, though.

Hey, little Sara. Hi, Scott. Those chocolate chip cookies are scrumptious. I bet the banana was picked by Molly the monkey.

Temperatures today are showing a heatwave after the past two days. It was 44F/7C degrees walking Victor this morning.

Fresh coffee is brewing. I am simply awaiting it before I can get into some real activity.

It's Monday morning north of the equator and east of the dateline -- sorry about that, honest.

Larry, with all the recent temp changes here in the states, a wave of flu and colds is bound to be on the way.

Hmm, noticed that all the cookies were gone. Just more proof that life can be cruel to the young and beautiful while being a total bitch for the rest of us. (slurp) Coffee ain't bad, however.
Howdy folks
Larry Molly the monkey did pick the banana cookies.
Rump never fear I have more cookies today... Just a little late with the delivery
Today's cookies are : red velvet ,carrot cake and peanut butter cookies
*sitting the cookies on the counter* there are plenty today 4 dozen of each cookie
*putting out treats for the little critters*
A large sweet tea.
Warm days and chilly nights are messing with my sinuses.
Happy Thanksgiving Scott

Hello, everyone! My mom had hand surgery and I made use of FMLA at work to take off and care for her until she regains use of her left hand. I missed a day of blogging for Blogtober, but I needed a day of rest after a long day of running around and operating on little sleep. The girl child stole my toothbrush and began brushing her tiny teeth with it. I got her a toothbrush of her own and flouride-free toothpaste, and she's coming along with potty training.

Did somebody say peanut butter cookies? I'm putting some of my fragments together and hopefully try to weave a story together.

Hello everyone. Time to visit the coffee house. Making some fresh coffee and cleaning out the vacuum container. I see there are still a lot of Sara's cookies left on the counter.

No painting today. That chore is finished. This is a day of rest and consolidation. I need to get to writing and proofreading.

Tea time.

Specialist appointment this morning (nothing serious, at least not yet). Less than an hour to checkin, wait, and see the specialist, hour+ wait to get the bloodwork he ordered done. This was in a hospital lab. Usually I use a private one that takes appointments but I was seeing him in the hospital so had to have it done there.

The weather has been beautiful here as well. Tomorrow it will rain but that's okay, we really need it and I love to have a lazy rainy day now and then.

I am still working on the painting. One room required a lot of patching walls and some new baseboards and trim.

If there are any cookies left I'll grab one or two. I'll be in the corner with my feet up reading.

Have a great night everyone.

Cheers!
So Larry is done painting, but Gill is still working on it. You two need to coordinate things better.

Good morning, all. Rainy here which means I feel a bit crappy. I'm finding weather changes are bothering me more than they used to (or maybe I'm just noticing the connection to the weather).

And feet up in the corner sounds like a plan. * gets a tea and joins Gill *

Howdy. I'll join anyone here now for a cuppa java.

Weather. What ruins my day is cold weather. My skinny old body simply does not handle the cold at all. And it is 44F/7C degrees right now.

It may be nicer later. We are planning to go walking in a state park about two hours away during the day.

Don't move to Southern Ontario. 7C look positively balmy once we get to January around here. *shivers*

In the end, cold is kind of relative. We once went to see my in-laws in Shanghai in February (to spend the Lunar New Year with them). Temp was probably 7-12C, which is as cold as that city normally gets (snow is a once-in-a-lifetime thing for them). I was lounging in a long-sleeved shirt and maybe a hoodie while most of them were bundled up. They were worried that I would be cold. I had been outside shovelling in -20C weather the day before we left. Cold for me, as an Ontario kid, was a rather different thing than for them.

Yummy! Perfect to go with my after-lunch tea. Thanks!

I am currently waiting to see if a job offer is accepted. This will bring my team to 5, including myself. Twenty years ago, when I started the job, not only was I a one-man shop but I was also the company's first dedicated IT person. Prior to that, they were being supported by corporate IT (which itself consisted of only one or two people, and is now up to 10 or 12).

Goodies and coffee -- life can have compensations.

It's Oscar Wilde's birthday, according to Garrison Keillor on his Writer's Almanac. He included a Wilde quote that was new to me.

A man's face is his autobiography.
A woman's face is her work of fiction.

Illegitimi non carborundum , y'all.

One last weather note, my apologies to Carl. It is very windy here and I love it. Hearing the wind blowing the leaves is one of my favorite sounds. I am also partial to wearing sweaters. Broke out a few of my favorites, so I'll be hanging out wearing an oversized fuzzy sweater and my favorite warm slippers.

There is a lot of excitement and nonstop local news coverage here of the Nats making the world series. After the Caps winning the Stanley Cup two seasons ago and now the Nats, maybe there is hope for the Redskins and the Wizards. Or not.

I don't like warm beverages so I'll have a glass of wine and eat some red velvet cake. Thanks, Sara!

Cheers!

We had a heavy wind last night and its still pretty strong this morning. Knocked over both my blue box and my garbage can.

Still no word from my (potential) hire. Crossing fingers.

Waiting for the coffee to brew. I have out a green bin for trash, a blue bin for recyclables, and a large paper bag for organic waste (leaves/twigs). Luckily no winds to blow them over.

Ballet class this morning after I get some coffee to get my body going.

Here in Canada, it's usually blue bin for recyclables, green bin for compostable food waste, and black bags or a plastic "can" for regular garbage. My city doesn't do the green bin program, though. Endless discussion about one, but it never happens.

In my city at least, yard waste (leaves and such) is done separately once or twice a month and uses, as you say, paper bags or other recyclable containers. You can also use a garbage can and they'll just dump the leaves and stuff into the truck and leave the can.

This morning Victor gets his annual visit to the vet. We have to watch him carefully. The first time he got his shots he had a horrible reaction. His little face swelled up and he could barely breathe. We had to take him to an animal hospital at about 11:00 at night. Quite a little trip over to Overland Park, Kansas.

Now, each year we take him in early enough to observe him for the day and get him back to the vet if necessary.

Time for a nice cuppa java.

Good morning all! Nicer day here. Cool but the rain and wind have passed. Thanks for the nice Fall photos Fuzzy and Anna. My area has just started changing. A spell of warm fall weather and a late first frost delayed things (again, this makes two years in a row).

Hope all goes well with Victor. There's doggie treats waiting if he's okay.
