Me, that is to say, I, well Iwant some of dem 'Smile Cookies'.

Sara, looking forward to more Scamp adventures. It might be fun to do a flashback to some of the character's ancesters whenever the 'History' category gets rolling.

Medalla, you ever get Lady Sharon that drink, probably some sort of coffee, she ordered?

Larry, you think Vic might pass for a 'Support Dog'? ;)

Okay, any coffee left? Thought not. Don't suppose the management and staff would consider cranking a new pot up for the afternoon/evening trade?

Y'all do the best ya know how.

Until some pals from around the world start stopping in to fill up the evenings I doubt we will have a pot brewing during the evening hours in the States. But we did get one of those newfangled coffee makers that let you make one cup at a time. And a carton of the little cannister things you put in. So you can make a cup whenever you want.

The water is always hot for tea drinkers any time, night or day.

You know, I think I'll get one of my several doctors to write a little note saying my Victor is a service dog for me. He'll start hanging out in the one the easy chairs.

Dinner is almost ready. See y'all later.

Larry mentioned the first story by newcomer, Red Writer, 'A Warmer Reality'. Here's the link.

It's already received a rare Editor's Pick (EP). Read it. You'll be glad you did.

And for a fun change-of-pace after finishing that story, scroll up to his newest, Dig It.

No need to thank me or Larry. Just another fine free service of:

Good idea about the scamp adventure ... Flashback to the characters ancesters for the history category sounds like a good idea .

And with all the animals being rescued I might do stories telling how they came to the ranch.
Oops I made pyramids out of those little coffee pods

Your post of the URL for redwriter's EP story did not work, Bill. I'll post it again, now:

Going to bed now.
Good morning, all!

A coffee would do nicely while I'm catching up with all your news! Larry, hope rehearsals and performances are going well!

Bill, I've read RedWriter's first two stories here. Excellent recommendation!

Sara, looking forward to the next Scamp story!

Scott, great news about the coffee machine and the upcoming series links and History category.

I'm just putting the finishing touches on a musing for the Back to School challenge, which will hopefully pass muster!
Good day, Cynthia. So nice to see you today. I've been outside trimming back some branches that were hanging down over the sidewalk. Some ladies were doing their morning walk and asked me if I could as I was repairing a bird feeder the squirrels are messing about with.

I've also had to reprogram the switch for the exterior lights. They are not coming on and off properly. Must have been a power spurt that played with the timing. That's done. If it comes on at the proper time this evening then it's working again.

The pup is settled down beside me here. I had my oncologist give me an official note saying he is a service dog. He'll be joining us in the coffeehouse from now on.

Hi all, just popping in for a coffee to go before I head back to work and pretend to be busy smile
Might do a bit of scribbling later, I still have the Time Warp challenge to write

Dogs, service or otherwise, are always welcome in here. Well, the cat might not be too happy but a bit of catnip will deal with that.syc4c6WMrGXjfSa0

Anyone else for sencha (Japanese green tea)?

Halloween looms and my annual story is here. Is it a trick? Or a treat? Let me know.

Mendala, he wrote: Anyone else for sencha (Japanese green tea)?

Me, I queried: Hope you don't take too much offense at this question, but is that stuff something to drink or is it best suited for putting on gardens needing fertilizer? ;)

Okay, LSU just whipped Vandy 66-38. It was 28-7 after the 1st quarter but things got a bit sloppy after that. Anyway, here's a plate full of pralines to celebrate. Any coffee left?

Hey, Scott. Nice to see you, Bill. There is certainly coffee left. It's fun to watch how crowded it is getting around here. Nice to see.

And a lot of new stories to enjoy, as well.

By the way, the Mizzou Tigers are beating the South Carolina Gamecocks 10 to zip at present.

As Sara has brought all the toys, I'll just give Victor a cuddle! And say hello to the cat if he/she will let me get near!

A coffee to get me going to clean the house this morning will do very nicely!
Good morning all. * pets various animals, then pours a hot Earl Grey *

We are kicking Fall off with a heat wave here. 27C and humid both days this weekend.

No offense. Very much to drink though it might work as fertilizer, too.

Nice to see you, Cynthia. Hi, Scott.

I'm having a cuppa java. That's what I need at this time of the day.

A storm system passed through but it looks as if it will not affect the Chiefs game in Kansas City later today.

Since I finally got a story written for the Back to School challenge I can think about the Moon challenge now. I have some strange ideas for it drifting through my head. We shall see.

Good morning, coffee house patrons! My daughter just came into the room and said her colors and numbers from one to ten. Yesterday, we participated in the Beyond a Mammogram 5k that my job is a sponsor for. She had the best seat in the house by sitting in her stroller and taking in the scenery along the lakefront. I am fooling around in Photoshop Elements getting my aforementioned banner ready for debuting and getting a post ready for my website. I'm also thinking about setting up a YouTube channel to supplement my website, mainly with some book reviews and other things. There is a possibility I may vlog my life during the upcoming Christmas season. I also have to find costumes for my daughter and me to wear for Halloween and go trick-or-treating.

Hi people
*checks the food and water dishes of the resident cat and Victor *
Does the cat have a name ?
Is the cat friendly?
*climbing up in my favorite chair with a sweet tea*
Happy Sunday people

Miss Purr is her name. Sentimental choice, I had a cat by that name. Born in our basement when I was four, shuffled off this mortal coil the year I got my Master's degree (yes, she lived to 20). And she's quite friendly. Too friendly sometimes.

Good day. Now working on my second cuppa java. I had to take a short trip out to pick up some necessities from a store. I took Victor along because the temperature was only in the 50s F so not too hot to stay in the car.

However, it's still gonna get up into the 80s today. Staying inside mostly, getting some writing done.
Oh, oh, Sara's hitting the marshmallows. Time to restock. Does Costco sell them, I wonder?

Back to fall here, hopefully for good this time. Though you never know. I ended up cutting the grass in shorts on Canadian Thanksgiving (2nd Monday in October) last year, a day when I have also bundled up some years.

Rediscovered an old favorite song today.

Perfect! I'll go get about six bags. (just teasin')

Blood tests today. Main purpose is to check my A1C (diabetes stuff) but there's some other numbers my doc and I monitor, too.

Writing drought continues. I have ideas. I just don't feel like writing. Every time I start, it fizzles out after a couple paragraphs no matter what the story or subject matter. Oh well. I may try to use one of the challenges, probably the moon one, as a focus to try to jumpstart things. I have been able to get some ideas documented in OneNote at least.

* pours and English Breakfast tea *

Happy Tuesday, Everyone! Still working on my story (Queen of Back Bay) and working out the final ending details. It's hard to know where to end. I read the Kurt Vonnegut (one of my favorite writers) recommends starting the story as close to the end as possible. I think I did that much, but where is the end!? I may have figured it out this morning. Just need to put it on paper now. Hope everyone else is enjoying their coffee!
Got to moving late today. After arising I fed and walked Victor. Then we both came back and laid down for an after walk rest.

I got up and made the coffee in about an hour. Sorry if anyone had to use the little packets of single servings.

I did the Back to School challenge. I am working on the Moon challenge now. A bit of sci-fi steampunk fluff. But fun for me.

Actually, I feel like writing a poem. I think I'll go ahead and do that today. I need to do some proofing for a friend but it will have to wait.

But ... what if you don't know the end? How do you know where to put the start?? I'm terrible for having an idea for where things begin and then letting them run as I write in hopes that I'll reach an ending.xjgNhoRHKWqvhUx8

Geez, too much existential writerly confusion as the rice and stir fry cooks for supper. Time zone slippage dears, time zone slippage.

Scott seriously I thought you were going to say you'd dealt with the hair ball from said cat.

Ours was the unexcelled master at projectile hair ball action just as the door bell rang announcing guests.

Darren, take heed. For both stories and fiction and cats.

More later... if you're unlucky

Better than having it cough up a tessaract (Captain Marvel reference).

Actually, a feline kaiju that shoots flaming hairballs could be ... Yeah, let's just park that one.

Rice and stir fry sounds yummy, depending on what you're putting in the latter.

Hi Everyone. Well, here I am at last and finally managed to get the next chapter of Long Road Home submitted. It's been a hell of a week since I got back from Germany. My mum, is in hospital and is tomorrow going into a nursing home for what I fear will be her final days. She is 95, suffers from dementia and heart failure. She won't eat or drink now. Travelling back and forth to take care of the problems with the medical and welfare people, along with attending meetings the other side of the country has worn me to a stump.
Today, I decided to 'take a day off' and spent the afternoon working on the chapter. I got the last 1500 words done. Phew!

So now, I will sit here and enjoy an enormous cup of strong, black Arabica if I may please.

My Dad was like that in his last days, Anna, so my heart goes out to you. He was only 80, too. Have a hug or two on me. And we'll make sure the coffee is of the "spoon stands up on its own" variety, at least for you.
