Good morning. I see we have a new member today named ShovivSoftware. Wonder what is up with that? Perhaps we shall learn later.

My coffee pot is brewing. I should have a cuppa java ready momentarily.

No birthdays that I need to note this morning. So, have a good day, all.

Cheers.
Good morning, Larry! Hugs to you, Gill. That sounds like a whole lot of stress and worry on top of the exhaustion of having got your parents' house ready to sell.

I'm not convinced by banana tea but a cup.of coffee will do nicely. ☕
Good morning, Cynthia. I am waiting for coffee, as well.

I see I have two birthdays to consider this morning. Beena and Bunz. The other two are not active.

I'll be heading over to one of my doctors this morning to consult about an infection. We shall see how that goes.

Cheers, all.
Hello Larry, I'll stick the coffee on today for you and anyone else who pops in.

Hope the doctor's visit went as well as possible?
Good day to you, Cynthia. My doctor's visit was a success.

I've got another fresh pot of java brewing right now. I don't see any birthdays in the forum that I need to consider.

Going to another site soon to check out some contest results.

Cheers, all.
The pup met another pup on our walk just now. They hadn't seen each other in months but they do recognize each other.

The coffee is brewing. I am waiting for my first cuppa java.

I'm off to my oral surgeon for an inspection of my jaw this morning. We'll decide if the infection will need further anti-biotics.

Cheers, all.
Once again the reason we are here. The coffee is brewing.

Nothing on the horizon for the weekend.

Cheers, all.
Made up a couple big pitchers of iced tea, one sweetened, one not. There's lemon wedges for those who like that in their tea. Hot and muggy here with rain looming. Thinking about story ideas for the moon challenge and trying not to melt.

Halloween looms and my annual story is here. Is it a trick? Or a treat? Let me know.

Late in the day, I don't want coffee or tea. Have a nice big glass of ice water. Must stay hydrated they keep saying. Today I didn't go outside at all. Spent a couple of fun days away this week, but the heat! Had to keep a proper attitude to have a good time. But saw old friends, went to a wonderfully interesting auction where a box of baseball cards sold for $12,400 to an over the phone bidder. Amazing. Always remember for it to get that high someone was bidding against the winner. And postcards. So many - probably 1,000 over several lots and the money they went for...thought I was hearing things.

Hope everyone has a good night with plenty of cool a/c. I didn't open the drapes to keep the heat out.
Early in the day for me. Just after 8:30 and the pup is walked. I'm awaiting the coffee to brew.

Quiet weekend around here.

Cheers, all.
Good morning Larry. I have done a load of laundry and watched Sunday Morning on CBS, Listening to wonderful happy music now. A friend posted on FB a big mama black bear and her 3 cubs following along walking through a field near her house. This is over the mountain from me in a place called Fort Valley - rather restricted access location. All the people living there have been calling each other because evidently the mama bear is a rather permissive mom, she lets those cubs go anywhere and do whatever they want. Just need to check outside before you go outside evidently. It is amazing to have wildlife like that close by. We just have the white-tailed deer that think we planted our property for their culinary delight. You can get six feet away from them yelling at them to go away and they are all hard of hearing and just look at you until one of you backs down. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.
The only wildlife we see here are deer, foxes, and rabbits. Another heat advisory day, with temps to 100 and high humidity. Thankfully it will cool off by Tuesday.

Cooling off in the water is not ideal, the bay is 85 and local pools are about the same.

I'm getting some things done on the inside of my house today. Lawn and garden work can wait until it's not a sauna outside.

I made some Cherry Limeade, I have plenty to share.

Cheers!
I live in a city of about 100,000 folks but on the edge of town. There are a state park and lake within 5 minutes. Simply walking the pup in our neighborhood gives me glimpses of deer, muskrat, beaver, and snapping turtles on occasion.

It should be a pleasant 83 degrees today.

Just need that coffee to brew for the first cup.

Cheers, all.
I am so glad they are promising better temperatures tomorrow . Maybe your weather will move east Larry and give us a break. Last night's thunderstorm was wicked. Thunder clapping right on top of the house. And some people had trees come down and hit their houses or take power lines with them. Nothing compared to the flooding other parts of the country have been experiencing. Showed 3 large oak trees that looked like they had been twisted so hard they broke. Now that is a mini something or other. Not normal wind.
It is a hot July day here in Devon with an almost cloudless blue sky and just the slightest of a cooling breeze; and I am practicing what the Dutch call ‘Niksen’ or more poetically in Italian ‘la dolce far niente’ — in translation ‘the sweet art of doing nothing’ which entails nothing more arduous than allowing my mind to simply wander without purpose. This enviable quality of being able to really enjoy doing nothing is something which our European neighbours have long mastered, but which is so strange to our English natures, believing as we do that every waking moment should be filled with activity and that allowing the imagination to wander unhindered is nothing short of laziness. But the truth is that it’s quality time well spent, In fact so enjoyable it’s sweet, juicy, and delicious, just like homemade pasta with fresh pomodoro sauce or Italian ice cream; and it is positively beneficial in clearing the mind of all those toxic thoughts and recharging batteries that have been exhausted as we rush about aimlessly in pursuit of money or fame or happiness.

I would love a cooling glass of citron when I can summon the energy to lift the glass to my lips and maybe some stracciatella and pistachio ice cream when you have time sir, but please don’t exert yourself too much — remember doing nothing and daydreaming is positively life enhancing.

Just returned from the pup's morning walk. The coffee is brewing. I'll have a cuppa java when it is ready.

No birthdays of active members today. I didn't see a new member this morning.

Cheers, all.

Hello, I'm Rune new here

You are so silly. "New here".

Have a cuppa java, dear lady.
As I said it has been hot here today - hot for England that is - and once the wind dropped it was rather uncomfortable because of the humidity, which is also often the case in England when the temperature climbs. Doing nothing was definitely the best option and it allowed me to lie flat to ease a minor bout of sciatica which has been plaguing me recently - growing old sucks at times.

As the evening is drawing on a glass of a good single malt whisky might be better than coffee if that is possible. It might also help take my mind off the depressing fact that our British Trump clone Boris Johnson will be taking office as Prime Minister tomorrow, a man totally unfitted for office who was elected by under 100,000 members of the Conservative Party - a very British coup d’état and a mockery of all the ideals of Parliamentary democracy.

The lawn mowing fellows are out cutting the grass for this week. We are on a 5 day per week watering schedule now with a slight drought occurring.

Cheers, all.
So happy to welcome RuNe here. giggle. And Keith, my heart goes out to you - feels like civilization is crumbling.

Did you get the huge thunderstorms where you were? There was a massive one over me, I watched it for hours. Quite spectacularly turbulent and volatile. Couldn't help thinking it was rather apt after the events of the day
Yes, even nature is venting its anger.
I love thunderstorms, the bigger the better for me. There is something so awe inspiring and gothic about them, dark and violent and yet, once passed, the air is sweet and clear.

Would anyone care to join me with a double espresso?

The arabica is brewing and the pup is settled onto my pillow.

Soon we need to leave to get a crown put on a tooth. That will take up the morning.

Cheers, all.

So sorry to all you poor souls that have Trump's clone as your new PM. Even though we'd like someone else to feel our pain...it's too cruel.

I perhaps should tell you the strange story of the 6 disappearing kittens. All of a sudden two days ago there were 6 healthy, feisty, adorable kittens frolicking in the yard. Couldn't be feral but not ready for them to fall in love with me I didn't go outside in case they fell in love with me. Let several of my friends know and they wanted to know if I could pet them and pick them up - just to be sure. So I went out the next morning and they were gone. Gone. No idea what happened to them. I would guess they were about 10 -11 weeks old. All slight variations of each other. Grey striped with white feet, tip of tail, nose, etc.

Maybe I should write a Halloween story about them....

Hope all are well.
Good day. As always awaiting the brew. The air outside is slightly cooling down. Just a hint that perhaps the summer is closing a bit.

Cheers, all.
Can someone pop the kettle's on, I'd love a lemon tea?

Summer's in full swing here and I just ate strawberries and cream while sat out in the sun
I just discovered "spearmint green tea." It's delicious.
