Fuzzy, when it comes to being clueless and out of the loop, if I'm not in a class by myself, it sure don't take long to call the roll. That said, in the last few weeks, I've heard nothing about a new contest. That includes any scuttlebutt on the 'Mod Forum'. Maggie and others have indicated that another contest might be a possibility somehow, someday but, to the best of my limited knowledge, there have been no ongoing discussions.

BTW, hope you got that kettle of hot water you asked for last year. ;)

The contest that we had been discussing earlier was the one on another site. I had mentioned I was reading some of the stories. Scott was planning to read some over the weekend.

I'm ready for a fresh cuppa java.

The sun is shining brightly, but the temperatures are below thirty.
I'm trying to come up with something (silly) humorous. Leaving my dark suit for a couple of days.
Early evening here and cold and dark. A lemon and ginger tea would do nicely. ☕

Really appreciating all the feedback on my story!
Coffee, please. I plan on staring into it for a while and ruminating on my life. If I don't speak, it's because I'm lost in thought. I know where I've been and I know where I am. It's where I'm going that befuddles me at the moment.
The morning coffee has brewed and I am working on my first cuppa java. It's still rather hot.

Not a lot going on around here right now. I got a CT scan yesterday. Perhaps I'll have the results on Monday.

Cheers, all.
Man, too quiet in here these days. We need to throw a party or something. Fuzzy had some donuts backstage so I'll put some of them out here along with fruitcake and shortbread left over from the holidays. Some of my brother's famous fudge, too (he took over my Dad's recipe when Dad gave up making it).

* fires up the kettle to make some green tea *

Anyone do anything fun over the holidays? I had a family cruise. 8 days out of Miami with stops on four Caribbean islands. We don't get much time with our son anymore since he goes to university out of town so these vacations are becoming more special with every year.

Halloween looms and my annual story is here. Is it a trick? Or a treat? Let me know.

How about Therapeutic Energy Activator?

Oh I like that.. TEA!

Now I wonder if someone can define COFFEE?????
Coffee - Cure Of Fast Frenzied Energy Everytime

And in French - Café

Ça Aide Fortement Enerver

Loosely translates as "it helps to get really enervated". VERY loose translation.
Need TEA but having sleeping problems so debating how much Cure-All For Failing Energy Input Needing Escalation (CAFFEINE) is appropriate.

Tea - Terribly Essential Awakener. Well, for me, anyway! ☕

Pot of Earl Grey, please. I need more than one cup this morning!

Love lemon ginger herbal. That's my evening drink right now. I need to get more lemon thriller, the other herbal I drink.

Lemon thriller sounds delish! Pukka teas do a lemon, ginger and manuka honey, which is lovely on a cold winter's day.

Lemon Thriller is a store brand (President's Choice, which is owned by Loblaws, Canada's largest grocery chain) but I don't hold that against it. Love it plain or with a twist or two of lime, which I guess would make it Lemon-Lime Thriller.aYLPIAGnI8mhcUhD

Looks lovely, Scott. Thanks for the link! Nothing like an extra twist of citrus for flavour.

As it's morning, I'll have my usual EGT to get going here. ☕
Really, really, hot black tea, double-bagger, please. Large cup. Add two Ricola cough drops into bottom and two tablespoons of honey. Feeling low with a stuffy head and raw throat. I have the best velvet, low tone, raspy voice for singing Barry White songs but can't make it through a whole song without cracking. The best thing about an email society is that I can work all day without speaking to anyone. Make that To Go, please. Thank you.
In the immortal words of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, "Tea. Earl Grey. Hot." That line absolutely has to appear in the pilot for the new Picard-based Star Trek series.

Week almost over and I think I've made it. Happy weekend to all.

Take care of yourself and get well soon, Wordpusher. I've dodged the bullet so far this winter but I'm sure I'll come down with something sooner or later. My wife was ill back in October but I didn't seem to catch it.

Ugh. I woke up with a sore throat, head-ache and aches and pains today. So I'll be making a hot drink of lemon, honey and grated fresh ginger to ease the sore throat. And there will be a thermos filled with it on my bedside table to sip on during the night, when I wake up feeling miserable. Am also taking paracetomol to combat the aches and pains. I will be exiled to the spare room so my husband won't be disturbed and hopefully be spared this thing.

Stay healthy people, it's the misery season!

Thanks for the kind thoughts today. I'm at work; slogging through a couple hundred emails and sniffling so as to be let alone. Best wishes for the weekend.

Good morning all.

Time to start the day with a freshly brewed cuppa java. And look out at the freshly fallen blanket of snow.
Can something be both sad and enjoyable? Yesterday, I was watching a concert in memory of a member of the Canadian pop band Walk Off The Earth. Their keyboard, trumpet, accordion, and other miscellaneous instruments player Mike Taylor, affectionately known as "Beard Guy" to fans, passed away unexpectedly just before New Year's. The concert was held in the band's hometown of Burlington, Ontario, Canada and featured mostly local acts, many with ties to WOTE. Some good performances but some sad moments, too. Sarah Blackwood, the band member who emceed, was in or close to tears several times and had some great stories about WOTE's ties to some of the various guest artists.

Having a tall cup of Orange Pekoe right now.

I'm a big fan of WOTE. I hadn't heard about Mike Taylor's passing, that is so sad. The tribute concert sounds amazing. Emotional and moving and a fitting celebration of his life and talent.

I might go for an Apple and Cinnamon tea, please.
