Back to School Challenge:
Submit an original story, poem or song that has for its subject a return to school.
The start of a new school year is here for a lot of people, so to go along with it, here is the Back to School Challenge.
The story can be about anyone of any age returning to school, including teachers and school support staff.
It can be presented from the point of view of parents or guardians sending children off to school.
Starting school for the first time ever is acceptable, as it will be assumed the child will continue going to school after the first day.
It can be about switching schools during the school year, or about returning to school after an absence, such as a hospital stay, or returning to school as an adult, etc.
Guidelines for the challenge:
- The text must be written for this challenge and not already published here or elsewhere
- There is no deadline to the challenge
- Preface your title with Back to School Challenge
- Include backtoschool as a tag
- Submit your story via the story submission link on the home page
- Mention must be made in the text of the season or time of year
- Something that was learned from going to school or at school must be included*
- Word count is minimum 200 words, maximum 2500
- Categories : Children's, Flash Fiction, General, Humour, Memoirs, Musings, Plays, Poetry, Romance, Songs and Young Adult
- It should be suitable for all ages, so keep that in mind in terms of language etc
- All the site rules apply
* For example, my god-son informed his mother after his first week at school that he was going to be a teacher when he was big, because "the teacher stands at the front of the class and doesn't do anything, we have to do all the work". First lesson learned right there!
Any questions ? You know the drill, raise your hand and ask them!
Just kidding, ask the questions here.
Have fun!
