I know it seems like I say this every time but all of the entries were excellent and it made it so hard for the judges. This of course is something we want, so thank you to everyone that entered.

I’d like to congratulate Ping, Violet_The_Verbose, and WriterGirl for taking the Top 3 places:

1st Place: Innocent Until Proven Gullible by  Ping

2nd Place: The Wonderful World of Wally Weasel by  Violet_the_Verbose

3rd Place: Just a Girl Who Loves Cats by  WriterGirl

The following entries round out the Top 10, and if you haven't done so already, I recommend giving them a read too:

4. After The Curtain Fell by  Welshdreamer42

5. Eidolon by  Tams

6. Out Of The Lake by  redwriter

7. The Empty Office by  Mendalla

8. Dark Image by  TomEccleston

9. A Village in Cornwall by  Verity

10. A Matter of Time by  AnnaMayZing

We do have an honorable mention and that goes to:

The Road Not Traveled by  JamesPBear

Thank you to everyone that read, scored, and commented.

Congratulations again to the winners, I'll be in touch today regarding your prizes!

Oo, pretty close to how I would have called it.

Congratulations to Ping, Violet, and Writergirl on their top finishes. All well-deserved.

And congratulations to all for a wonderful slate of comp entries! What a wonderful way to celebrate Halloween.

Halloween looms and my annual story is here. Is it a trick? Or a treat? Let me know.

Congratulations to Ping, Violet and WriterGirl for their outstandingly chilling/wacky tales. Supremely well deserved. And well done to everyone else who entered. I read them all and was thoroughly entertained/spooked.

I extend my congratulations to the winners of this first contest on the reformated StoriesSpace. I hope all enjoyed creating their entries. Writing should always be its own reward. However, receiving a little extra recognition doesn't hurt.

Congratulation to the brilliant podium trio and everyone else who entered this first SSV2 competition. I hope it’s the first of many 😊

The one thing I love about the Horror/Spooky genre is the heightened creativity behind the tale(s), and this comp did not disappoint. So many wildly imaginative ways these talented authors were able to raise the hairs on my arms. I am just now getting back to a regular sleep pattern. Although I still have yet to drink a bottled water, I wont ever go back to a Chuck-E-Cheese, and I've found myself staring at random cats trying to detect behavioral traits of friends I haven't seen in a few weeks!

Huge congrats to the winners, Ping, Violet, and WriterGirl for finding a way to stand out among a really well-written batch of stories.

I'm already looking forward to the next prompt!

Ha! Too frikkin cool! I actually clapped when I saw the results! Big congrats to all the winners in a very strong field: the Marvelous Bastard himself, VV, and WriterGirl! And to everyone who entered, for giving us a great set of reads. This was an excellent comp!

Fire and Ice - A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words competition, first place

Monster - Survivor competition, first place

WriterGirl sends a huge congratulations and a big thank you to everyone and is super chuffed to be on the podium! She's just had eye surgery and cannot read or write anything at the moment - I'm sure she will be on here as soon as she can to add a personal message.

Well, how did that happen?

Like I said before, there is something about this genre that brings out a special creativity in people. I guess we all have our spooky passions.

Thanks to Molly, the judges, and all the others behind the scenes. And thanks to all that entered and read our stories.

Comps are fun!!!

Iconoclastically incorrigible or just a silly dumb ass...

Congratulations to the winners and runners up. I agree with Molly, There were some excellent entries and I am sure that it wasn't easy.

Poppin in while my eyes are working. Ping!! Big congrats! I told you years ago when I first read your stories, your mind reminded me of Quentin Tarantino - brilliant but a little scary smile

Sweet Violet! What I wouldn't give to roam around in your imagination for a bit! Congratulations to you!

And when Mr Thespian called to tell me the news, I squealed so loudly I burst his eardrums. Hee Hee A heartfelt thank you to Molly, judges, readers, and this site for providing this simple girl from KY a safe place to express myself.

I loved all the entries! Y'all scared the pee out of me! The talent here is incredible!

kiss

Just a simple girl from Kentucky scribbling her way through this great big world.

Ah shucks. Thanks. I do like QT and I’m a fan, but he’s a few leaps and bounds above my pay grade. But I’ll take the compliment nonetheless. Hugs. 😊

Congratulations Ping, Voilet_The_Verbose, WriterGirl, and everyone who entered. I loved reading all the different takes on the comp theme. Some kept me up at night, but I love reading a story that can accomplish scaring me. It was a great kick-off for competitions on Stories Space 2.0.

It happened because you wrote a damn fine story, my friend.

Congratulations to Ping, Violet (yay VV) and WriterGirl for your outstandingly tales. And to everyone else who entered.

I echo Ping: thanks to Molly and all those involved in organising and judging this competition.

And indeed competitions are so much fun!!

I am a little sad to report that, though I managed to enter this one, I didn't elsewhere. My competition streak of over 20 consecutive competitions has come to an end. But I have the best ever excuse.

My latest story, Mardi Gras Competition: Sydney's Mardi Gras: We Shall Overcome

Some earlier stories:

Spooky Tales competition: Tales From the Crypt: Downunder Edition

Tam-challenge Micro: Under the Red Hoodie

Maybe my best story: Finding Pride on Oxford Street

Yeah, my wife actually wrote a textbook when she was pregnant, but had to put it aside while our son was small. Finished it once he was old enough to start daycare.
