I have read all the ones submitted so far and look forward to reading the ones that are coming soon!

What about the ones that are coming in at 23:59:59 on July 23? (I'm only half-joking)

Halloween looms and my annual story is here. Is it a trick? Or a treat? Let me know.

If it gets that bad, the glass is yours. I'll already have drunk the rest of the bottle.

Yay, verbal. I shall (hopefully) take heart from your success. Not even trying tonight. Tomorrow is a Saturday so I can write in the morning when my brain is more likely to be in gear.

I’ve got a couple of bottles of Moscato and a buncha glasses. Who’s in?

I honestly didn’t know if I was going to be able to make my story over 1000 words and then my fingers kept typing ans boom 1492 words!

Start pouring. It's a weekend.BGxzDUkVIaFQh8bg

Length isn't a problem for me. The part of the story that is written is well past 1001 words (thinking 1700 or so without actually checking). It's actually making the narrative work.

Dang, that's a pretty good lineup of writers so far. And verbal is coming soon, as am I now (yes, I think a version I wrote the other night will fly, just needs some judicious editing and maybe a bit more prose).

I am anxiously waiting for more, but not at 11:59 PM. Yes, Verbal, I'm looking at you.

Hee hee. I’ll be ready Sunday morning. I have to get rid of 10 words after the last rewrite. sad

SO PSYCHED to see Curious Annie entering. She’s a top notch writer. Ping is entering too I think. And Scott. Molly, how about you?

EDIT: I've read the other entries so far. Really strong field. Where are you Scott and Pingly?

I'm ready to enter, but will still hold off until tomorrow so I can give the doc one last swoop.

I have great faith in you, Scott. Here, let me refill your glass.

I’ve read the three latest entries and damn, that’s some amazing writing. Fills up my own glass as well!

I shall await your story with baited breath. Or Moscato breath at least. Lol!

My entry has moved from Google Docs to a saved draft on here. Just want to take another go at it before I pull the trigger. However, have to finish some yard work first.

Drop that rake right now and submit! I finally finished mine! Now I get to enjoy my Sunday.

Fling that bottle over here. I’ll add some to my coffee to celebrate. God that sounds awful. Moscato and coffee. I take it back.

Off to read the Sunday paper, then ShyThespian’s entry.

Great entries, Guys. The list is growing but still not enough to fill the top ten.
I certainly hope that there will be more to come.
Those that there are, however, do face some very stiff competition.
I'm glad I'm not a judge.

Rump is, as per the usual, correct. Best not to read others until one is done. I read the first couple, but now that I’m chugging along, I’ll read the other entries once I’ve completed writing my own. Not there yet. But here’s the working cover. I hope I can add the words to compliment it.

Iconoclastically incorrigible or just a silly dumb ass...

Read all the stories now, and they are all wonderful, a tribute to our craft and a fabulous takes on the competition theme. Hopefully we will get a handful more to enjoy. Thanks to those of you who have read and commented on mine.

My latest story, Mardi Gras Competition: Sydney's Mardi Gras: We Shall Overcome

Some earlier stories:

Spooky Tales competition: Tales From the Crypt: Downunder Edition

Tam-challenge Micro: Under the Red Hoodie

Maybe my best story: Finding Pride on Oxford Street

Got through three yesterday. Will try to get to some more today. Impressed as always with the SS team coming through with good takes on the theme.

We don't want any more than ten. How else am I supposed to finish in the top ten. Just saying...
