Lindsay Ellis is a Youtuber who I know primarily from her role as one of the hosts of the PBS Digital Studios series It's Lit. She is, however, also a published author, with one s-f novel out and its sequel currently on preorder for an October release.
Recently, she put out this video on her channel and I thought it was an interesting look at the world of writing for the publishing industry. She concedes at the beginning that, in spite of the title, she did suspect some of it going in but had those suspicions confirmed (not entirely to her pleasure you might be able to tell).
