What are some of the best songs heard in a movie you saw?

With the loss of Donald Sutherland, I thought of this one. He played "Hawkeye" Pierce in the original movie, even if Alan Alda is probably the actor most associated with the role due to the longevity of the TV series.

A little fun fact some of you may know, I love writing to horror movie soundtracks. One of the best songs to get your heart racing is In The House In The Heartbeat from 28 Days Later. (the title on the link wrote the name wrong)

I wouldn't say that this is the best song I ever heard in a movie. I wouldn't even say it is a good song, but...

It is of its time (1966) and was very tongue-in-cheek. I think it worked very well in the movie. The faces are even recognisable!

I have never seen the Film, 9 1/2 Weeks, but one of my favourite songs is from it. I love atmospheric music, and for me, This City Never Sleeps is the best track to come from The Eurythmics. Another one where I can close my eyes and let my imagination go. The image of a big city at night (in my case, London) is really brought to life. Put on headphones, crank up the volume just a little, and blank out everything else.

An early Spielberg movie, featuring several unknown (then) youngsters, American Graffiti features some great songs from the fifties. This is one of the few covers from the film by Flash Cadillac and the Continental Kids. At The Hop.

Wrong director. American Graffiti was George Lucas' second (and first well-known) film. 😊Interestingly, Harrison Ford had a small role in it but apparently his casting as Han Solo didn't really come out of that.

Sort of relevant here. Disney+ keeps finding things to tempt me to at least do a trial. This one might just get me. A documentary about the career of film composer John Williams, who is absolutely one of my favourite 20th-21st century composers. Just about every Spielberg movie, the Indiana Jones series, most of Star Wars, and a raft of other films all benefited from his music. He is now 92 and retired from film scoring after the latest Indiana Jones film but apparently plans to continue working on other music.

It's tough to pick a favourite, too, but this one really gets the goosebumps going for me. Picture slowly standing as you see, for the first time, living, breathing dinosaurs. This performance is by the Vienna Philharmonic with Williams himself on the podium.

Libraries have apps where you can watch shows/films. One of my favorite shows, "Don Matteo," started charging money to watch. Now I log in a library app and am able to watch it for free. If you are by a library, they may have an app, and they may have, "Music by John Williams." Or any other show/film you may want to watch.

Nah, Disney won't let go of stuff like that for a while. My library has a couple video apps but one of them is mostly straight-to-video trash or foreign shows that rights are easier to get. The other has a better collection but still doesn't get A-list stuff like that.
