Hmmm... The assumption being that $.50 is the largest coin in circulation then isn't the amount infinitesimal plus $.94 since all the half dollars in the world won't reproduce a larger coin?

There are dollar coins in circulation. If you used two half dollar coins then they could be replaced by a dollar coin but the problems state that you can only use pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and half dollars.

There is a specific amount that is in whole coins. The coins are quantized, they can not be broken into smaller parts.

To clarify, if you used 4 pennies, 1 nickel, 1 dime, 1 quarter, 1 half dollar, then the sum of the values of the coins would be $.96. There is a way to make a larger sum, that is what you need to find to answer this riddle.

It has been a week so I will give the answer:

If you take 4 pennies, 4 dimes, one quarter, and one half dollar that would equal $1.19.

how about patiala peg of black and white whiskey with lots of cherries and ice.
There are two friends. Ant and Elephant. Best of pals but one day they have some difference of opinion and they start fighting with each other. After a prolonged hand to hand combat ant gets beaten up. They are no longer friends. One day much after their fight ant sees elephant coming from opposite direction. Ant quickly hides behind a tree.

A few have twelve, many have four, most have six.

Edit-I did give somebody some more clues so I will share those clues; Some do have five, a few have one, there have been instances with one having two and one having three. They could have seven, eight, nine, ten and eleven but I have never seen any like those. And the numbers do not refer to engine cylinders.

It has been more than a week so I will give the answer; A Guitar 🎸. There are 12 string guitars, bass guitars have 4 strings, most guitars have 6 strings. There are 5 string basses (they have a low B string added to them). I once saw The Presidents of the United States playing on the Jenny McCarthy Show and the guitar only had 3 strings and the bass only had 2 strings. A wash tub bass guitar has only 1 string. Guitars could have 7, 8, 9 , 10 or 11 strings but I have never seen any like that.

Smokestacks! That was so clever! I was quessing the actual Queens and not ships.

George had two, Bill had two, George’s father had one, Ronald had two, Jimmy had one, Gerald had a half and Richard had one and a half. Who are they?
They are probably former American presidents, and at a guess, it is the various siblings each had, or half siblings, in some cases.

It is Former presidents of the United States and the number refers to the number of terms each president served. I could have added Barack had two, Lyndon had one and a quarter, John had three quarters and Frank had three and a quarter but I thought that would be too obvious.
