Is #40 with or without roller skates?

There were a couple that were not as old but were more technical in nature; like a wooden mouse for the computer (all the earliest mice were wooden) and to save money we learned to use a sort of paper hole punch to cut a piece out of a floppy disk (the original 8" disks that were actually floppy) to double the storage space. the original (Memorex 650 had about 175 kB of formatted storage, using this trick we used both sides and basically doubled the storage) Yes young people, you read that right, 175 kB as in kilo-bits. that is almost 60 billion times smaller than most hard drives today.

I did not mean that in a derogatory fashion, I am just amazed at the advancements made. No one in my day would have dreamed of a gigabyte. Hard drives were still a thing for super-computers and the ultra rich.
