Looking forward to the final season of the 'A Discovery of Witches' trilogy. Just been announced for January here. 😀
Ping, you are introducing them to foreign films but have yet to show them the original Gamera vs. Gyaos? Cretin!
I am beginning to understand all the hoopla around Succession. It's pretty frikkin good.
Fire and Ice - A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words competition, first place

Kind of hooked on the Vampire Diaries and their spinoffs : The Originals and Legacies
The Originals caught my eye because of Charles Michael Davis he is pretty good.
who played agent Quentin Carter on NCIS New Orleans .. took me a little bit to warm up to that character .

Wow. Just watched the Season Three finale. Season one’s was excellent. Season two’s was spectacular. But Succession’s season three penultimate and finale were both works of undeniable genius and storytelling art. I hope you get to this. Season four can’t come soon enough.
You should consider Yellowstone too.
As much telenova as it has, the show is pretty good. The cast is great. Two spin offs are coming. The Four Six’s will utilize some of the cast and be based on a real famous huge ranch in Texas. 1883 will be the origin series. Both ‘feel’ like they will be good too. That Taylor Sheridan dude is on his game. From Sons of Anarchy to this. Well done, dude. Well done. He even is part owner of that Texas ranch. Money to burn.
They’re talking about rebooting Six Feet Under on HBO. Grrr. It would make irrelevant perhaps the greatest finale in television history. The show was a little uneven, but when it worked (as in the finale) it was perfect.

Alan Ball is involved. No nothing yet. Just talks. I too hope it dies a quick death. Leave the legacy alone.
That darn Jellystone. Episode eight (tonight) was really good until the end. More stupid unbelievable stuff. So dumb. What’s with the overcompensating white saviour complex? Too much soap opera logic. The show is better than that.
And yet I still watch…
We're really digging Succession. Sadly, I'm scared to read ANYTHING about it, since I have to avoid two seasons worth of spoilers until I'm caught up.
Finished The Shrink Next Door. Very good, and Paul Rudd is excellent - best thing I've ever seen him do. He really disappears inside the character - every other time I've seen him he's playing versions of himself (I assume). Talia is listening to the podcast.
One more episode of The Outsider to go. Slow but well done.

Sampled the first episode of Tales from the Loop on Prime. Interesting show and I quite enjoyed the episode but haven't gone further. I find it easier to watch smaller bites, like Youtube videos, when exercising for some reason.
Mrs. M has been watching the CNN series The Cold War from 2000ish and I've been joining in. It was a major production they did with Ted Turner himself as Executive Producer covering the history of the Cold War from the dividing up of Europe at the end of WWII through to the fall of the Berlin Wall. It's largely chronological, though some episodes are more thematic, e.g. ones that look a various events in the Middle East or Latin America and how the Cold War influenced those regions over a period of time.
Halloween looms and my annual story is here. Is it a trick? Or a treat? Let me know.

Considering Peaky Blinders. It keeps popping up on my radar. I know nothing about it other than it’s a period piece that that Bane/Venom dude is in it and he’s violent. Probably worth a look.
I really liked Peaky Blinders. Cillian Murphy (The Scarecrow) is such a wonderfully flawed character that you want to stick with him. I admit I didn't watch the last two seasons, but it is on my list of things to catch up on. It wasn't the fault of the show, it was my life getting in the way. Also, anything with Tom Hardy is worth checking out.
I am currently watching The Witcher Season 2 and Hawkeye. Everything else has been Holiday Baking shows or Christmas movies with my mother.

It's on my list as well. Thanks for getting me hooked on Succession. Since I am in quarantine, I binged all thress seasons. It's so well done that it makes me angry at how awful all the characters are. You get a glimpse of someone possibly showing some integrity, but no, it never comes to fruition. Apprently raising kids with hundreds of millions of dollars doesn't lead to people who have any notion of how to be a decent human being.
I finished Landscapers on HBO Max. It's a limited series (only four episodes) about a couple convicted of killing her parents and leaving the UK for 15 years before confessing and returning to be tried. I love Olivia Coleman, but it was weird. I can't explain how they filmed it; you'd have to watch it yourself. I'm still not sure if I liked it or not.
Superb! Glad you two are enjoying Succession. Verbs, as Gill can attest, season one is only the beginning. 😜
Started episode one of Peaky Blinders, from now on to be referred to as Pesky Binders. Disappointed that Tom Hardy doesn’t enter the series until season two, but that’s how they get ya! I’ll chip away until I get there.
Introduced my daughter to a glaring omission from my favourite TV show list: Banshee. I was giddy explaining to her what was going on, as if reminiscing about friends from the good old days. Banshee is an excellent character development example of what can be done. I can’t recommend this show strongly enough.
The Young Pope, the first season, is another superb show. Gill knows this show. One word: kangaroo. Season two was okay, but shouldn’t have happened. Limited series, you greedy bastards. Limited means… oh well. There won’t be a season three. There shouldn’t be.
However, The Man in the High Castle on Prime has won my attention. Outstanding concept. What if Germany and Japan won WWII and divided North America between them? So far, really freakin’ good.
Coming soon…
After Life, season three with Ricky Gervais.
Ozark, the last season, part one. Promises to be spectacular.
Billions. I don’t know if the series will survive after last season’s surprise finale. I’m not sure I want it too, except I’d miss seeing Maggie Siff every Sunday. When she’s dresses and plays a Dom… oh my.
Finished CNN's Cold War the other day. Very good history of that period. The later episodes get into pretty familiar territory for me (I was born in the mid-60s) but it delves into stuff that was not always apparent from the news.
Last night, we watched a bio of Ben Franklin from The History Channel. Had never really know much beyond his involvement in founding the USA as a country and his research into electricity. He was actually quite a character. His first son (born to an unknown "woman of low birth" before he got married) was actually on the other side in the American Revolution as Royal Governor of New Jersey. Needless to say, that led to some serious family dysfunction.

For Succession, I didn't see the ending coming in Season one. In Season two, I did see it. Season three was a surprise. It did have some funny moments, mostly with Roman's storyline and his "dysfunctional" issues and Dad's medical problems.
I was happy to see that the third season of After Life is coming. I'm looking forward to the last season of Ozark. Hopefully, it will have the ending such a great show deserves.
I started The Lost Daughter on Netflix. It is Maggie Gylenahll's directorial debut. It stars Olivia Coleman, whom I adore. Not sure if I like it or not yet and have no idea where it is going.
Finished the fourth and final season of The Sinner (on the USA Network). It has a recurring character return each season, Bill Pullman as a retired detective. Each season has a different storyline, mostly a murder mystery. I liked it.
I have written a fabulous (blushing ‘cause it’s sooo true) comment on this spectacular show. Sadly, the system isn’t set up to copy and paste from my iPhone notes. If there is a work around, let me know. I’m not re-typing the darn thing. LOL. Oh, and Ridley Scott. Yes, THAT Ridley Scott, is behind this four season project. If you like any of the movies on his list, then you’ll probably like this series.
Season One: I’m gobsmacked.

I'm about to finish season two of Succession. Such a strong show. I'm slowing down because I don't want to be all caught up and waiting.
Watched a pretty good Chinese sci-fi on Netflix, The Silent Sea. We also watched The Lost Daughter and enjoyed it greatly.
We watched some Bob Newhart last night. I'd love to go to a costume party as Bob and Emily. I wish the second Newhart show was streaming somewhere.

See, for me that's the Newhart show. I did see the odd episode of his first series but Newhart's run came in my big TV sitcom watching period and I loved it.

I loved both Newhart shows. The ending of the second show was wonderful. I remember as a child, on Saturday nights, we would watch The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Bob Newhart as a family. Saw that all the cast members from the Mary Tyler Moore show are dead. Betty was the last.
I've been watching a lot of cooking shows and catching up on my DVR stuff. The latest season of Project Runway and RuPaul's Drag Race to name a few.
Discovered that a history podcast called Fall of Civilizations has a Youtube version. Ancient history is a thing with me (my undergrad major was Classics, with a strong focus on Roman history and culture) so I have been sampling it. Working on The Han Dynasty (the period of Chinese history that happened roughly in parallel to the Roman Empire in the West) right now. Also watched episodes on Assyria and the Bronze Age collapse, when multiple societies ended or fell on hard times all within a fairly short span of time as the Bronze Age gave way to the Iron Age. Episodes range from an hour to three hours depending on how much ground is being covered.

I started a show and I was seriously disappointed in it. Roswell New Mexico that's an hour I can't get back

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid me.
My daughter and I were flipping through the channels and landed on, ugh… Botched.
I’m such a disappointment in the parenting department. Botched plastic surgeries made right. Stupid show. We started with a lady that had, are you ready? Are you sitting down? 3000 cc breast implants. That’s three litres of booby filler. Actual ten pin bowling balls.
We watched the surgery of the doc removing the defective implants, her chest healing, and then her new implants and reconstruction. Ugh.
The freaky woman then Skyped her f’n son to show him her new boobs.
Honestly. I’m so disappointed in myself.
Finished The Silent Sea on N-Flix. Good solid sci-fi, without too much stupid crap.
About to finish season two of Succession. HOLLY FRIKKIN HUNTER! Love her. Serious crush.
