I am on a rewatch binge of 'Stargate SG1.' Presently in season 3. Liz and I have been watching 'Elementary,' a different take on Sherlock Holmes where Lucy Lui plays Watson based in modern-day New York City.
You can't get there from here, because when you get there you're still here and here is now there.
Started watching Russian Doll on Netflix. It's listed under Comedy but it's more of a magic realist dramedy. It's about a woman who dies after her 36th birthday party, but keeps looping back to a moment at the party and then carrying on until she dies again. Each version of the party, aftermath, and death is different (I have kind of lost count of how many different ways she has kicked the bucket). Clearly, there's some deeper meaning here. It's only 8 episodes (with a second season starting production this coming Spring) so I should know soon.

I loved Russian Doll (so did the late great Ping, who turned me on to it).

Currently watching WandaVision (awesome), Euphoria (good), and old reruns of The New Adventures of Old Christine. Recently finished off Pretend it's a City (awesome as well!).

I'm starting Russian Doll now and love it. Pretend It's A City was awesome! I loved seeing Fran's perspective on the city.

I am watching the Godzilla anima on NF, and Re-watching "Agents of Shield' too. Today on Disney+ the new Falcon & Winter Soldier series is supposed to start.

Right now there is only one weekly program that I watch with some regularity. That is Hell's Kitchen.

*hugs*
I love Margaret Atwood and started reading Alias Grace, based on a true crime. I discovered that Netflix had made a miniseries based on the book. I watched the Netflix show before finishing the book, not generally what I like to do. I did enjoy the show, hopefully, it doesn't make me unhappy with the book or resent the series, lol.

After a long, dry spell... TV wise, tonight I have the new season of Curse of Oak Island and on Friday I am really looking forward to Season Two of A Discovery of Witches. WooHoo!
It is like London buses. Nothing for ages and then two come at once!

Only two?

I watched and loved season two of Discovery of Witches but now I have:

Curse of Oak Island
Chicago Fire
The Good Doctor
And the Good Fight on the horizon.

In between those, I am watching a Swedish thriller called Arctic Murders.

If only there was more time!

My son learned to cook some dishes after watching Ramsay's Youtube channel. I used to think he was just the "swearing chef" but now I have some respect for the guy. After all, he got my son interested in cooking.

Kind of on "pause" with Russian Doll on Netflix right now. Enjoying it but I have an odd relationship with entertainment these days. Stuff I love still doesn't attract me for long periods.

The Crown on Netflix

www.szadventures.com

I started watching Mare of Easttown on HBO. It's limited series about murder in a small town and the detective investigating, Kate Winslet. It's rather depressing but compelling and now I need to find out who did it.

I also watched Retribution on Netflix. Another compelling mystery but depressing too. I need to find something more upbeat for my next binge.

Them is really disturbing, but really good television. It's goes places you don't expect it to.

I love sci-fi and I love Anna Kendrick, but Stowaway on Netflix is only passable.

I love Anna Kendrick too and have to agree that Stowaway was barely passable. I kept waiting for something interesting to happen.

I started Them, today.

And the Good Fight on the horizon.

The Good fight has arrived. The previous season was failing rapidly but I persevered.

I managed to get through the first episode of the new season but no more.

What started out as a superb off-shoot of the Good Wife has become complete and utter rubbish!

That's it for me, I shan't be watching another minute.

However, The Curse of Oak Island, The Good Doctor, and Chicago Fire are keeping me going!

I just watched this movie.
Decided to binge-watch all three seasons of Babylon Berlin... again. It is so well made that it is a joy to watch. the recreation of the 1920s is so atmospheric that it is easy to forget it is a modern show.

Did some catch-up of favorite PBS Digital Studios shows on Youtube.

Eons (which discusses deep time and evolution) covered the evolution of wood, which then allowed trees as we know them to evolve.

Sound Field (which looks at various topics in music) did a nice piece on Beethven's Fur Elise, which also marked the return of co-host Nahre Sol who's been away most of the past few months

It's Lit (like Sound Field but for literature) did a history of manga, the Japanese comics that inspire a lot of anime and have become popular and influential in the West over the past 3 or so decades

FYI, if you're looking for them, Eons and Sound Field have their own Youtube channels, It's Lit is one of three shows sharing a channel called Storied. It's stablemates are Monstrum (about monsters in folklore and literature, which I've talked about in other places on the site) and Other Words (about language and the origins of words).

If we are including Youtube... I have discovered that a show I watched back in the sixties is available. It is French (subtitled) but the Flying sequences are Top Gun rivaling. Some excellent footage of the aircraft carrier Foch.

These all sound excellent! I'll check them out.

We're watching Cruel Summer. The story and acting are pretty good, but what really sets it apart is that it's told from the POV of three different years, and flips back and forth. It's a cool effect, and allows the scenes to comment on each other.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the 3 part BBC adaptation of Nancy Mitford's The Pursuit of Love.

Very funny, light and bright Sunday evening viewing with more serious undertones for those who wish to pick up on them and a fantastic soundtrack!

A 1920s coming out ball to the sounds of Nick Cave and some members of The Who is irresistible!
GoT (again) with my son. Just watched the series finale of Last Man Standing (sad to see it go) and the season, which may also be the series finale of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. It has not yet been renewed for season three.

Why are there no more Justified’s out there???

Tons of motorcycle videos on YouTube. If you haven’t seen her, check out Itchy Boots. Noraly is from the Netherlands. She travels on her motorcycle by herself around the world. She uses four GoPro’s, including a drone for stunning images.

Noraly is currently touring South Africa. Three years ago she travelled over 60,000 kilometres through Asia and Europe. Last year, her Patagonia to Alaska trip was cut short in Chile due to the pandemic. Hopefully, she returns to that leg soon.

I watched GoT with my youngest daughter last year. My favorite part was staring awkwardly at the walls during the nude scenes. smile Actually it does bring up some interesting discussions, and I'd seen it before, so i know what's coming. It holds up well under a second viewing. Even the last season - though it's rushed, it's not as bad as everyone said it was at the time.

No more Justified, though the same team is trying to get another Elmore Leonard series off the ground. And Timothy Elephant was in The Mandolorian!

I'm deep into Better Call Saul now. After that I'm trying to convince Talia to try Breaking Bad.

I have been rewatching two shows.

1. 'The Ranch' is a comedy/drama series on Netflix. It has an all-star cast, with Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Sam Elliott, Debra Winger, Elisha Cuthbert, and Debra Jo Rupp. It was canceled last year.

2. 'The Boys' follows a team of non-superpowered vigilantes as they combat superpowered individuals who abuse their abilities on Amazon Prime. The series has an ensemble cast that is great and this parody/dark-humored show has interesting storylines. It is R-rated with excessive gore and violence plus a lot of sexual references. It is like GOT with its violence, but basically on nudity. It may have more violence and gore than GOT. I like its sarcasm and often gallows humor. Season three is greenlit and I hear they may have a spin-off coming next year, or sooner. based on a group in superpower college based on G-Men from their comics.

Well, America’s Got Talent is back tomorrow. It was a household favourite for many years, but it has lacked depth for several seasons now. They tried to expand the brand by having a Champion’s version, but it sucked. We’ll still watch, however, unless a few acts garner my emotion, I won’t be vested. That leads to loss of viewership from this potato.

Friends Reunion was as expected. I did really enjoy it. Who hasn’t been in a pivot situation?

Last Man Standing series finale was underwhelming. It has cheesy closure but I sensed it wasn’t Tim Allen’s decision to end the show. This was a household favourite. Really enjoyed the writing and characters. Glad no one was killed.

Really, REALLY looking forward to the series finales of Ozark and Better Call Saul. Dates have not yet been announced.

Yellowstone is a wonderful Justified replacement series. No one does brooding cowboy/rancher/farmer like Kevin Costner. I was surprised how much I’ve grown to like this series. It got Dallasy for the season three finale, but I think they’ll fix that in season four. Some really great character arcs in this one. No date announcement yet either.

Itchy Boots on YouTube. She is such a positive inspiration. She has travelled parts of the works I never would and has ridden roads I’d never walk. Check her out. The newer videos are about ten minutes each. It’s a YouTube algorithm thing to be efficiently and effectively monetized. Her earliest stuff started in India and Thailand, was shorter, of good but lessor quality, but she found her stride about episode 20 or so. She continued to improve and her multiple GoPro footage, editing skills, and music selection now rival professional quality stuff. Highly recommend it. Maybe start with her current tour in South Africa and bounce around from there.

I'm really late to the game, but I've been binge-watching Vikings. I just finished Season 5 last night and let me tell you, this has been an emotional roller coaster ride.
